To Whom It May Concern:

Over the past 12 years and while as the VP of Marketing at Marian Heath Greeting Cards/Viabella
Holdings, I have worked with Molly DelMastro, VP Creative. Molly is an extremely talented VP of Creative
with genuine business integrity who I can highly recommend. I have witnessed her ability to manage and
inspire her team to get a plethora of design work done all while under extremely tight deadlines. She has
her finger on the pulse of new design trends in the industry and can work her team to integrate those and
be on the cutting edge of what is up and coming as well. Molly has a great balance of business savvy and
design aesthetic. She is extremely organized, detail orientated all while being a great leader.
Molly knows what it takes to produce work, but also be mindful of the creative process and organizational
processes needed to get that job done. I worked very closely with Molly in 2018, when she was appointed
the Chair of the Louie Awards (Greeting Card Association’s biggest vent of the year, a huge awards gala
that celebrates the best of the best in the greeting card industry). Molly was able to bring her vision of a
Street Pop themed event to fruition, with an amazing bash to celebrate the best! She was able to bring
many different groups of people together to make one of the most memorable events I have ever been
associated with. I put Molly in high regard and have looked up to her over the years as a mentor and can
honestly as well as highly recommend her without any hesitation. Molly would be an amazing asset to any
company. I would be happy to discuss further if you wish.

Warm Regards

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is in response to the position advertised as Art Instructor.

I feel that I would be an ideal candidate for the advertised position. I currently hold a Massachusetts DESE
license (Visual Arts, PreK-8). I have also received Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement and
recent certification in CPR and First Aid (2019).

Last school year, I worked as a K-5 art teacher at two Plymouth elementary schools. After the school
shutdown in March, I continued to provide learning opportunities remotely by creating an online website
and virtual art gallery. Additional experience includes working in PreK-12 special education classrooms as
a substitute teacher/paraprofessional/tutor and recent employment as an art instructor with adults with
special needs, at Cardinal Cushing Center adult services day program – Life Opportunities Unlimited
located in Hanover. My work with children and adults with mild/moderate/severe special needs, within a
wide variety of settings, has taught me the value of patience, encouragement, and praise. I have truly
appreciated and learned from every student that I have encountered. My goal has been to empower
students, whenever possible, so that we can showcase their unique abilities and talents.

I have also worked as an art teacher with the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton (after-school program) and a
ceramics teacher (summer arts camp in Bridgewater), using a pottery wheel and kiln.

My work as an art teacher with Cardinal Cushing was showcased at the 2018 Annual Massachusetts
Department of Developmental Services “FOCUS” conference held In Norwood. Samples of students’
artwork at Cardinal Cushing were also exhibited at Plymouth Center for the Arts.

My background in art includes both a knowledge and understanding of art history and the creative process
and extensive experience working with various mediums, methods, materials, and tools.

As an art instructor, I feel that I would be a valuable asset to your school and that I would serve as a
positive role model for students. I feel that I have both the skills and background necessary to create a
dynamic and diverse art program geared to students of varying backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.
My goal is to create an environment where students feel safe, welcome, and confident. I feel that a
curriculum should be designed to encourage, engage, and challenge students while, at the same time,
provide them with the opportunity to develop valuable, lifelong skills.

I would very much appreciate the opportunity to meet with you, at your convenience, to discuss the
position.

Sincerely,

Laurie Mathews

To whom it may concern,

I am writing in support of the hiring of Laurie Mathews. I have had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Mathews for
a few years now. I have seen Ms. Mathews work diligently both as a student, and as an art teacher. We
took undergraduate classes together at Bridgewater State University, and last year we were so excited to
realize we’d be working together at Indian Brook Elementary School in Plymouth.
Laurie has some of the best ideas for projects, and she brings out the artist in every student, no matter the
grade level. I was constantly inspired by her ideas. Modern day teachers rely heavily on online sources and
Pinterest, but Laurie truly has such an artistic and creative mind and a lot of her ideas for projects are
completely original. She puts so much time and dedication into coming up with the best, most engaging
lessons for all of her students.
Laurie and I worked side by side with the Strive Program at Indian Brook, which is a sub-separate program
for students with ASD. I had never worked with kids on the spectrum before, so I was nervous at first. Since
Laurie had experience working at Cardinal Cushing Centers, just having her there in the classroom with me
put me at ease. It was quickly evident that she had worked with this population before, and the kids loved
her. She never doubted their abilities, and I believe that is what makes Laurie such a great teacher. She is
a teacher of ALL different types of learners.
I believe Laurie is a great candidate for your position because she has worked with many different learners
from many different backgrounds. The school she last worked at, Cold Spring Elementary, was the first
school that I worked in. It was a somewhat difficult task being a new teacher there, as the parent
involvement can sometimes be low, and the students come from all different socioeconomic backgrounds. I
know that Laurie put in so much effort to connect with each and every student. She worked hard to provide
them with a safe and inviting learning environment. She powered through challenges and overcame
obstacles, all while teaching a well-rounded art education.
Laurie is a creative, kind, and talented art teacher, and I believe she would be a great fit for your position.
Should you need any more information from me, feel free to email me at the email provided below.

Thank you,

Jill Monska

To Whom it May Concern:

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of my co-worker, Laurie Mathews. Laurie and
I worked together at Cold Spring Elementary School last year. Laurie taught art lessons to my ESL
students. Laurie is a compassionate and talented art teacher. She listens to the needs of each child and
she is able to differentiate her lessons to accommodate the needs of the students. She is very creative and
works well with technology. She also has excellent classroom management skills.
During the COVID 19 shutdown last year, Laurie created an online Art Show so that students could display
their art work remotely to their families.
I would highly recommend Laurie to your school and believe she would be a great team player and an
asset to your school community.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Michelle A. Lombard

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my absolute pleasure to recommend Laurie Mathews for this position. Laurie is my sister and I truly
believe that there is no one who could better fill this position since Laurie puts everything she has into her
profession. She has worked extremely hard to accomplish this major goal in her life, to become an art
teacher.

Laurie excelled while obtaining her degrees, both in teaching and fine arts. While doing so, she earned the
respect of anyone she was exposed to, including professors and classmates. Her talent, her passion, and
her love for teaching and for art, cannot be matched by many.

Currently, while employed as a teacher, she often speaks of how she truly cares about, and believes in,
each student. As a result, her students have excelled due to her having brought about the best in them.

Laurie is both reliable and dedicated. If Laurie were to be hired for this position, the choice would be a
wonderful opportunity for both Laurie and your school.

Sincerely,

Lisa Murawski-Dupont

Dear Boston Higashi School,

I am interested in applying for a position as an art activity leader at the Boston Higashi School. A 2019
Master’s graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, I have student teaching experience on
the Kindergarten to third grade level in urban schools. I believe my passion and care for student
achievement makes me an ideal candidate for a teaching position at your school.

The majority of my teaching experience has been with elementary students in the Greater Boston area, but
I have also worked as a Teaching assistant in a college freshman course called Visual Language. Having
graduated from MassArt, my artist skills and my educator skills have grown and developed alongside each
other over several rigorous years. My passion for teaching comes from the fulfillment I feel when my
students learn new things and are happy doing so. My unit building preferences are centered around
scaffolded lessons that build off of each other to build practical artistic skills and self confidence within the
students. During my student teaching, I found this method to work exceptionally well with drawing and color
mixing skill building in young students.

My main goals and priorities as an educator are to maintain high standards for all of my students, and to
make sure every student feels safe, comfortable, and confident in the classroom. I believe that a safe
learning environment with positive relationship building and clear goals leads to happier students and more
meaningful learning.

I want to be a great teacher that inspires students to enjoy learning and appreciate art. My prosocial
approach to teaching and relationship building makes me an excellent asset to any school community that
promotes respect and kindness. I welcome an interview and hope to hear from you at your earliest
convenience.

Sincerely,

Mustafa Shakarchi
