ADJ POINT: It is a fallacy for the opposition to assume that in making female-only
spaces we are automatically disregarding the other gender.
The point of the motion is about recognizing that female-only spaces serve a specific
and urgent purpose. In creating them, we aren’t dismissing other identities; rather,
we are addressing the immediate safety concerns of a group that continues to face
systemic oppression.
Thus, it’s a false assumption to equate the formation of female-only spaces with
exclusion. These spaces don’t erase or diminish the importance of safe
environments for gender-diverse individuals. Instead, they function as a necessary
measure to address the very real and present threats women face, threats that are
often unique to their gender.
