Khali Stephenson Lab Report
Date: 17.03.21
Aim: The main aim of this experiment is to examine how running and other exercises affect the
heart rate.
-Stationary bike
-Weights
-Skipping rope
- Timer
Method:
STATIONARY BIKE
WEIGHTS
Do this exercise on a count of 30 for both hands at the same time and rate.
SKIPPING ROPE
Start with some simple warm-up stretches (include hands and feet)
On a flat surface and spacious environment do as many as you can in 2 minutes flat, nonstop.
STATIONARY BIKE
The heart rate is 133 bpm – your rate increases as time counts down
WEIGHTS
The heart rate is 206bpm – your heart rate reacts as soon as your body feels the tension
SKIPPING ROPE
The heart rate is 185bpm – your rate is depends on how fast or slow you’re going
Analysis and Discussion:
During these exercises, your heart rate intensifies in many different ways and in different amounts of
time.
Precautions Taken:
Before engaging in such exercises, one must ensure that a full body warm up session takes place to
reduce the risk of any muscle injuries and to get the heart pumping and ready. Also when completed
exercise remember to cool down for it is just as important.
Conclusion:
Your body needs more oxygen when doing faster and intense activities and less when moving at a
slower and calmer pace.
