At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. Identify the proper coordinating conjunctions in sentences
b. Determine proper coordinating conjunctions and their purposes are.
c. Compose sentences with the appropriate coordinating conjunctions together.

1. I Do (Development)

Conjunctions a word used to connect


clauses or sentences to coordinate words
in the same clause. It can join two verbs,
two nouns, two adjective, two phrases
and two independents’ clauses.

There are seven coordinating conjunction


the acronym FANBOYS means:

FOR – shows reason or purpose


AND – express addition
NOR – connects non contrasting negative
ideas
BUT – shows contrast
OR – expresses choice
YET – shows a contrast or exception
SO – shows a result or consequence

2. We Do (Guided Practice)

Now let us have an activity.

Directions: Underline the appropriate


coordinating conjunction to complete the
idea of each sentence.

1. I did my best to pass my English exam
