forbidden without SUEX s.r.l. written authorization.
6. BATTERY DESCRIPTION
The BATTERY cannot be opened, it is sealed by the manufacturer and cannot be dismantled in any part. It is a
unique piece and is a spare part in its entirety.
The NiMH BATTERY is made up of 22 1.2 volt cells, connected in sequence, assembled on a plastic support, a
built in BMS electronic device manages the cells both in balancing and in protection.
7. BATTERY USE
The 71813 BATTERY is designed to be used only in the following products:
CODE DESCRIPTION
71381 XJ T
71058 CONVERSION KIT NI-MH FOR XJ
SUEX s.r.l. declines any responsibility for the failure or incorrect evaluation of the residual
battery charge that has led to incorrect assessments regarding the autonomy of the
Scooter.
9. BATTERY CHARGE
9.1. HOW TO CHARGE THE BATTERY
To charge, place the BATTERY in a safe place away from people and flammable objects and proceed as described
below.
Rev.03 – 23/01/2024 Pag. 6/17 Cod. 71813
USE ONLY THE APPROPRIATE BATTERY CHARGER
The battery should ONLY be recharged using the specific battery charger supplied (code 71405).
When the charger is not in use, disconnect it from the wall outlet and put it in its case.
CHARGE PROCEDURE
Carefully read the battery charger instructions manual.
Charge the battery before each use, allowing it to cool before inserting it into the Scooter; during this phase the
battery could release hydrogen which would inevitably accumulate inside the airtight scooter.
The accumulation of hydrogen (in special conditions) could cause accidents, with injuries to people and things.
Extreme temperatures can affect the battery's charging capacity.
Expose the battery to extreme temperatures reduces battery capacity and life. The ideal ambient temperature for
batteries is between 15 ° C (59 ° F) and 25 ° C (77 ° F). Battery performance is significantly reduced in
temperatures below 0 ° C (32 ° F).
Charging must take place in an appropriate place: covered and ventilated, away from flammable objects or liquids,
away from crowded rooms:
1. Remove the battery from the Scooter (see Scooter user manual) and disconnect the red connector;
2. The battery must be connected to the charger by means of the appropriate connector (A).
NEVER stop charging the battery: partial charges damage the battery and reduce
the autonomy of the battery itself!
After using the Scooter, ALWAYS cut off the power supply to the motor by using the
Scooter main switch: the electronic control of the Scooter motor board, even with the
engine not running, has a very low energy consumption which, in the long term, can lead to
complete discharge of the battery, with possible irreversible damage of the battery pack.
SUEX s.r.l. declines all responsibility following the intervention of the cut off system, in any situation, in
dangerous situations or in dives where the diver has (at his complete risk) entrusted his return to the
surface to the Suex Scooter.
Please note that the Scooter must be considered as an aid to diving and not as a means of rescue.
The use of the battery without observing all the recommendations contained in
this manual can lead to a significant and early decrease in the performance and
battery operating life.
DO NOT attempt to charge the battery using the connector located on the bottom
of the battery (for LI ION and NiMh battery).
DO NOT place the battery near an open flame or in rooms with high temperatures
(> 70 ° C): doing so could cause the battery to overheat and cause a fire hazard.
Disconnect the battery immediately if during the use it should give off a strange
smell, if it should become particularly hot or otherwise appear abnormal.
NEVER use recycled or repaired batteries unless they have been approved and
validated by SUEX.
If any of these cases occur would please, contact the SUEX assistance service before using the battery.
Any other way to handle the battery is to be considered wrong and potentially
dangerous.
16.2. STORAGE
During the storage period, and in any case when not used for diving, the storage of the buttery must take place in
the following conditions:
previously charged and subsequently disconnected from any external electrical load;
outside the Scooter;
out of the reach of children;
in a dry place (humidity 65% +/- 5%);
at temperatures between 15 °C and 36 °C;
adopting means to prevent the accumulation of dust and dirt.
Since the electronic circuits on board the battery have their own internal energy
consumption - negligible but NOT NULL - every care must be taken by the user to
prevent that during prolonged periods of inactivity the batteries may suffer
damage, even irreversible, to due to excessive cell discharge.
Provision must be taken ALONG THE ENTIRE LIFE OF THE BATTERY (warehouse storage, transfer etc.
included) to ALWAYS ensure that:
The batteries are stored fully charged mostly when they are not expected to be used for a long time.
The batteries are fully charged at least once a month.
The batteries are fully charged in any case when the RED LED lights up (the battery charge is less than 20%).
In a preventive perspective, in order to avoid that the aforementioned practice is
not followed - with possible IRREVERSIBLE damage to the battery - during ANY
logistic phase after the supply of the goods, SUEX s.r.l. hereby would like to
emphasize the INFORMATION for the customer's organization, in particular for
those responsible for warehouse management regarding the NEED TO PERIODIC
CHARGE of the batteries.
The above applies to the battery packs supplied as accessories or spare parts
and those inside the Scooters.
Suex cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to the battery resulting from failure to follow the
instructions contained in this manual.
