During the selection of topic entitled as “Energy Monitoring And
Targeting” The help we received from our professors, family, and friends
is invaluable and we are forever indebted to them.We would first like to
express our gratitude to our Director Mr. V. V. Giri Our HOD
Mr.Y.S.Powar and our Project Guide Mr.M.S.Kale for their immense
support, suggestion, encouragement and interest in our micro project
work. Without their invaluable suggestions our project selection would be
incomplete.
Last but not least, we would like to thank our friends, parents and
group members for their belief and patience in our endeaor.

A tidal energy system is a small-scale renewable energy solution that
harnesses the kinetic and potential energy of tidal movements to generate
electricity. This system typically consists of compact tidal turbines or
barrages placed in coastal areas with significant tidal activity. Unlike large-
scale tidal power plants, micro-projects are designed for localized
applications, such as powering small communities, remote coastal areas, or
individual facilities. They offer a sustainable and environmentally friendly
alternative to fossil fuels, with minimal ecological impact. Advances in
turbine technology, energy storage, and grid integration have improved the
efficiency and feasibility of such systems. Despite challenges like site
selection, high initial costs, and maintenance in marine environments, micro
tidal energy systems have the potential to provide a reliable, predictable, and
clean energy source, contributing to the global shift towards sustainable
power generation.

HOW THE ENERGY MONITORING AND TARGETING?
9
ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES
1. Energy Cost Savings: Identify and eliminate energy waste, reducing energy
bills.
2. Reduced Maintenance Costs: Detect equipment faults and schedule
maintenance, reducing repair costs.
3. Extended Equipment Life: Optimize energy use, reducing wear and tear on
equipment.
4. Improved Energy Efficiency: Optimize energy use, reducing waste and
improving efficiency.
5. Enhanced Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve
processes and reduce energy consumption.
6. Better Decision-Making: Data-driven insights enable informed decisions on
energy management.
10
Disadvantages of Energy monitoring and targeting -
3. Data Overload: EM&T systems collect a vast amount of data, which can be
overwhelming to analyze effectively. Without proper analysis tools or
expertise, organizations might struggle to extract actionable insights.

APPLICATIONS
12
TYPES OF TIDAL ENERGY SYSTEM
Scope: Provides data on total energy use, typically on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Use: Suitable for smaller operations or those just beginning energy management.
Purpose: Monitors energy use in more detail, often by specific equipment or processes.
Scope: Real-time data collection, trend analysis, and breakdowns of energy consumption
by device or system.
Use: Suitable for larger operations or those with complex energy needs.
3. Energy Targeting:
Purpose: Sets energy consumption targets and compares actual usage against those
targets.
Scope: Helps identify inefficiencies and areas where energy savings can be made.
