1.1 How to Use the What's New Table

Learn how you can use the What's New table for a new release. In particular, find the tasks that you need to
perform immediately after the upgrade to a new release, even if you do not plan to use any new features.

The table in the section What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning <release> lists all news and changes
that come with a new release and can be extensive.

 Recommendation

Start with identifying the items that require an immediate follow up after the upgrade. To do so, use the
respective filter values in the Types column. Just click the blue Filter in the column header, as shown in the
following animation:

configuration or other settings to make sure that the proc
esses you were using previously are running in the same
way after the upgrade. They may also require using a new
app for existing business processes.

 Note
In general, the upgrade does not require you to reacti
vate your planning area or install a new version of the
SAP IBP, add-in for Microsoft Excel. This typically only
happens with new features. But there might be excep
tions, which you can find in the table by filtering for

is highlighted where required.

might ask yourself: For which new features would I have to enhance and reactivate my planning areas? Which

to the upgrade to SAP IBP 2202. In case you still have non-normalized systems, please ask SAP to normalize
them before the upgrade to SAP IBP 2202. To prepare your systems for the normalization migration, please
complete the steps described in SAP Note 2885814 . Key preparation tasks are to look for suppressible
errors in your activation logs, correct invalid configurations, and activate your planning areas with full scope.
These steps need to be completed before your systems can be normalized by SAP.

1.5.1 Enhancements to Export and Import of Software

Collections

If your system landscape is enabled for extensibility development, the export and import of extension items,
such as model entities, is based on the Adaptation Transport Organizer. You can use the Export Software
Collection, Import Collection, and Extensibility Inventory apps to create software collections, add extension
items to software collections, export and import software collections, and check dependencies between
various extension items.

Technical Details

Types Prepare next release

Available as of N/A

Additional Details

If you have at least two SAP IBP systems in your landscape, for example, a test and a production system,
you’ll be contacted by SAP to evaluate and plan the next steps for enabling your landscape for extensibility
development.

If your landscape isn’t yet enabled for extensibility development, the transport of model entities is based on
the Change and Transport System in Application Server ABAP and you must continue to use the Transport
Model Entities app. If your landscape is enabled for extensibility development and you start using the Export
Software Collection, Import Collection, and Extensibility Inventory apps, you won’t be able to continue to use the
Transport Model Entities app.

Depending on your current landscape setup, the following options are now available:

• If you’re working in a two-system landscape, you can create and change extension items in your test
system that is enabled for extensibility. You can export the extension items from the test system and
import them into your production system using the Export Software Collection and Import Collection apps.
• If you’re working in a three-system landscape, the export and import mechanism in your landscape
will change. You’ll only be able to export extension items that have been created or changed in the
development system that is enabled for extensibility. You won’t be able to export extension items that have
been created or changed in your test system. The exported new and changed extension items from the
development system are imported into the test system. After a successful test in your test system, you
need to forward the export from the development system to allow the import into the production system.

won’t be included automatically in the export and you have to select them manually:

• Attributes
• Master data types
• Time profiles

The model entities that can be transported using the Transport Model Entities app can also be exported and
imported in your landscape using the Export Software Collection and Import Collection apps. As of 2105, the
following extension items can be exported and imported using either app:

• Navigations to other systems

The following extension items can be exported and imported using only the Export Software Collection and
Import Collection apps:

• Business roles
• SAP Fiori launchpad spaces
• SAP Fiori launchpad pages
• Settings for change history

Effects on System Administration

The Extensibility - Transport Management - Export (SAP_CORE_BC_SL_EXP) business catalog is available and
must be assigned to the relevant business role to access the Export Software Collection app. The Extensibility
- Transport Management - Import (SAP_CORE_BC_SL_IMP) business catalog is available and must be assigned
to the relevant business role to access the Import Collection app. The Extensibility - Extensibility Inventory
(SAP_CORE_BC_EXT_INVENTORY) business catalog is available and must be assigned to the relevant business
role to access the Extensibility Inventory app.

When all customers have switched to the export and import apps in the upcoming releases, the Transport
Model Entities app will be deprecated and will be deleted from the SAP Fiori launchpad.

• Order-based navigation

You can now use the new Custom Alerts - Order Information option to create navigations from the Monitor
Custom Alerts or Intelligent Visibility app for custom alerts that include order information for external key figure
values used in order-based planning.

Technical Details

Types New

Additional Details

An example of generic navigation could be from a custom alert that has a product as a calculation level in
the Monitor Custom Alerts app to the source system of the product. An example of order-based navigation
could be from a sales order selected in the Web-Based Planning app to the source system of the sales order.
There are no changes to how you create generic navigations. You can also still create an order-based navigation
as a generic navigation. When you choose to create an order-based navigation, however, you no longer need
to specify master data type and attributes for the dynamic navigation. Instead, you can now specify the
configuration parameters that are required for order-based planning, such as logical system and order element
type.

1.5.7 Deprecated Job Template: Delete Application Logs

As announced in the SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain (SAP IBP) release 2011, the Delete
Application Logs application job template has been deprecated and has been removed from the SAP IBP 2105
release.

Since the deletion of the logs is being automatically handled by the system, no further action is required.

However, if you previously made a copy of the template, after your upgrade in SAP IBP 2105, you’ll no longer be
able to schedule a job using this template.

If you want to schedule a job from a template with multiple steps that includes one step for deleting logs, then
you must manually remove the deletion step. Not doing this will result in an error.

After the upgrade to SAP IBP 2105, existing recurring jobs based on the Delete Application Logs template will

1.6 Business Network Collaboration

1.6.1 Granular Forecast Collaboration

You can use this feature if you want to collaborate on a more granular planning level than you would in a
typical forecast collaboration process. Up to now, we supported forecast collaboration on a planning level with
two root attributes. Now you can collaborate on a planning level with a third root attribute. You can flexibly
define this third root attribute, that is, you can choose whether or not to define it, and you can define any third
attribute of your choice. For example, you can collaborate on a Location - Product - Production Line
level, where Location and Product need to be part of the planning level just like in previous releases and
where you can define the Production Line attribute. This allows you to collaborate on production plans.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

Up to now, in a typical forecast collaboration process, you shared your forecast for certain products at certain
locations. In other words, you shared your forecast on a planning level with two root attributes, in this case,
on Product-Location level. This allowed you to find out if your suppliers could fulfill the demand for certain
products that you wanted to source from them.

As of this release, you can also share your forecast on a more granular planning level, that is, you can share it
on a planning level with three root attributes. This allows you to model other business cases for your forecast
collaboration with one additional root attribute.

 Example

You want to outsource the production of one of your products to one of your suppliers and want to
collaborate on production plans. To do this, you can now model your forecast collaboration for a planning

What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105
What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105 PUBLIC 49
level with three root attributes, in this case, Product-Location-Source. You can then share forecasts
for specific production lines with your suppliers, and they can commit to what they can produce on those
production lines.

Effects on System Administration

Setting up this new forecast collaboration process requires several steps. The SAP IBP owner needs to map
the additional attribute in a data sharing plan and set a new global configuration parameter (see Effects on
Configuration below). Also, the additional attribute needs to be enabled in the forecast add-on for SAP Ariba
Supply Chain Collaboration for Buyers by the SAP Ariba administrator.

Mapping the Third Attribute

Collaboration on a planning level with three root attributes is accomplished by using a cXML element for the
inbound and outbound messages that is called a Characteristic element. This element has a domain and a
value, which you can use to map the third attribute from your planning level to the message and vice versa. The
domain and the value are represented by the following new target and source fields:

• The domain of the Characteristic element is represented by the Characteristic 01 Domain target field for
provider plans and source field for consumer plans.
• The value of the Characteristic element is represented by the Characteristic 01 Value target field for
provider plans and source field for consumer plans.

You do the mapping like all other mappings in the data sharing plan. You can either create a whole new data
sharing plan or edit an existing data sharing plan. You need to map the third attribute in both a provider plan
and a matching consumer plan.

You need to add the domain for the Characteristic element as a data sharing plan attribute. The domain should
exactly match the expression that is defined in SAP Ariba. Doing this will make it possible to display the
attribute in SAP Ariba after it has also been enabled there.

Once you have saved the mapping, you can add it to the arrangement that you want to use for sharing the
forecast.

For more information, see Creating a Mapping.

Enabling the Third Attribute in the Forecast Add-On for SAP Ariba Supply Chain
Collaboration for Buyers
The SAP Ariba administrator needs to enable the third attribute in SAP Ariba. To show the data for the
attribute correctly in the forecast add-on for SAP Ariba Supply Chain Collaboration for Buyers, the SAP Ariba
administrator needs to enable the attribute in the forecast add-on. They can do this under Planning
Settings Manage Views Forecast View Attributes .

The attribute needs to be the domain of the Characteristic element. The expression on the SAP Ariba UI needs
to be the same as the Characteristic domain in the data sharing plan.

 Note

If you decide that you no longer want to use this feature, please get in touch with SAP. We can then check
if there are any data sharing plan arrangements left for which a third attribute is mapped. This is to help
prevent issues with data inconsistencies.

Effects on Configuration

We’ve introduced the new global configuration parameter CHECK_ARIBA_CHARACTERISTIC_IN. For inbound
messages that use a Characteristic element, this parameter checks if the domain and the value for the
Characteristic element are mapped to an attribute in SAP IBP for the corresponding data sharing plan. To
activate the check, you need to set the global configuration parameter to "X".

1.7 Data Integration

1.7.1 Importing Key Figure Data into Scenarios

You can now integrate key figure values into scenarios via the /IBP/PLANNING_DATA_API_SRV OData service
by defining the version and scenario in the OData request.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105, normalized systems only

Effects on Configuration

The new global configuration parameter MAX_RECORD_IN_SIM_TABLE can be used to limit the total number
of records to be stored in a scenario, which are created when integrating key figure data using the /IBP/
PLANNING_DATA_API_SRV OData service. Records are created according to the combinations of planning
objects and time periods. Note that the number of records can increase significantly after disaggregation.

 Caution

Use this parameter with caution, as setting the limit too high can cause serious performance issues. Verify
what your system is capable of sustaining before using the feature productively.

 Note

The default value of the parameter is 0, therefore, to be able to import key figure data into scenarios, you
first need to set this global configuration parameter.

1.7.2 Enhancements of Data Integration Using OData

Services

Data integration using OData services has been enhanced with the following:

• You can now extract version-dependent master data and import values of multiple key figures into SAP
IBP when integrating with SAP Analytics Cloud using the /IBP/EXTRACT_ODATA_SRV OData service.
Integrating with other external tools via the /IBP/PLANNING_DATA_API_SRV OData service now supports
extracting key figures, importing values of multiple key figures in one request, and improving performance
by sending requests in parallel.
• You can use the new OData v4 service /IBP/API_PROCMGMT_MANAGE to extract information about
processes from process management in SAP IBP and integrate this information in an external monitoring
tool. For more information, see Extraction of Process Management Data [page 85].
• You can use the new OData service API_RLG_UPLOAD to upload realignment projects using
communication scenario SAP_COM_0741. For more information, see Integrating Realignment Projects.
• You can use the new OData service QueryBusinessUserMetadaIn to read metadata information for the
service MANAGEBUSINESSUSERIN. For more information, see Integrating Business Users from an External
Identity Management System.

1.7.3 New Template for Integrating Planned Independent
Requirements

There is a new task template for integrating planned independent requirements from SAP IBP to SAP ERP
or SAP S/4HANA via SAP Cloud Integration for data services. This template contains a global variable that
enables you to keep existing records when integrating up-to-date data.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

In addition to the features of the previous versions of the template, the IBP_to_ERP_PIR_via_RFC_2105
template enables you to choose not to delete old data when integrating up-to-date information to your on-
premise system.

 Note

Use this template only if you are using SAP ERP, Supply Chain Integration Add-On for SAP Integrated
Business Planning support package 17 or higher, or SAP S/4HANA, supply chain integration add-on for
SAP Integrated Business Planning support package 14 or higher. For lower SP versions, we recommend
using the IBP_to_ERP_PIR_via_RFC template instead.

Effects on Configuration

If the $G_DELETE_OLD global variable is set to 'X', planned independent requirements for the location
material are deleted from SAP S/4HANA or SAP ERP before new records are integrated. If it is set to '',
new records are added to the existing ones and changed data is updated. Note that the default value of the
global variable is 'X'.

1.8.1 Suppressible Error Expiring in 2105

Suppressible error *S* Calculation &1@&2: Expression doesn't start with aggregation function turns into an
error with SAP IBP 2105. This means that after the upgrade to SAP IBP 2105, you can no longer activate your
planning areas with limited scope if this error occurs. Correct the invalid configurations to be able to activate
your planning areas.

Effects on Configuration

In the calculation for the key figure at the planning level, the input planning level contains one or more root
attributes that aren't root attributes of the output planning level, or the output planning level doesn't contain
these attributes at all. Such a calculation is an aggregation, and its calculation expression must start with one
of the aggregation functions: SUM, MIN, MAX, AVG, or COUNT.

To correct the configuration and activate with full scope, make one of the following changes:

• Split up the calculation into two calculations: an aggregation and a defaulting. For example, pay attention to
the sequence of these calculations.
• In case you assign a value to a key figure, and the output planning level doesn't contain all root attributes of
the input planning level, specify the aggregation function (SUM, MIN, MAX, or AVG).
• Choose a different input planning level that has the same set of root attributes as the output planning level.

1.8.2 Suppressible Errors Expiring in Upcoming SAP IBP

1.8.4 Checks for Stored Key Figures Read from Incompatible
Input Planning Levels

As part of the normalization project, we provide activation checks that help you to spot and fix erroneous
configuration that would prevent the normalization of your data model. These checks indicate if there are
calculation definitions where the stored value of a key figure is used at an input planning level other than its
base planning level; and whether the input planning level does not have the same set of root and non-root
attributes as the base planning level, which is not allowed.

Technical Details

Types Prepare next release

Available as of N/A

Effects on Configuration

In calculation definitions, an input planning level where the stored value of a key figure is used must contain the
same set of root and non-root attributes as the base planning level.

This is an existing modeling requirement, which is now supported by five activation checks, implemented as
suppressible errors. That is, you can only activate a planning area that contains such calculation definitions
if you suppress these errors and activate the planning area with limited scope. This is a temporary solution,
available for a couple of releases. We recommend that you correct the invalid calculation definitions as soon as
possible.

 Note

You will only be able to use the new normalized data model if you correct the invalid calculation definitions
in all planning areas. We recommend that you delete all planning areas that you do not use anymore so that
you'll only have to fix these issues in the active planning areas.

Correct all your calculations where these errors occur before the upgrade to SAP IBP 2202. Please keep
in mind that no bug fixes will be provided in the non-normalized systems starting from SAP IBP 2202. As
of SAP IBP 2205, features that worked in non-normalized systems previously will work only in normalized
systems.

Stored Values of Key Figures, with Different Base Planning Levels, Are Read from the Same
Planning Level
Message: *S* Stored values of KFs, with different base PLs, are read from PL &1

In multiple key figure calculations, where the stored values of key figures are used at the same input planning
level, the key figures cannot have different base planning levels.

All key figures that are used as stored inputs at the same planning level must have the same base planning
level.

As of the 1911 release, you can only activate a planning area that contains such calculation expressions if you
suppress these errors and activate the planning area with limited scope. This is a temporary solution that is
available for a couple of releases. SAP recommends that you correct the invalid calculation expressions, if there
are any, as soon as possible.

To identify and correct the invalid calculation expressions, proceed as follows:

1. In the Planning Areas app, select a planning area, and choose Check.
2. Open the log for the check.
You can navigate to the log from the Planning Areas app, or you can find the corresponding log in the
Application Logs app by filtering for the external identifier, which is PA: <ID of the planning area>.
3. Look for the following entry: *S* Stored values of KFs, with different base PLs, are read from PL &1, where &1
stands for the ID of the input planning level.
4. Before making any corrections, check your activation log and look for the error message Stored key figure
read from an incompatible planning level. If you have run into this error during activation as well, fix it first
as it might solve the problem of stored key figures with different base planning levels.
If the problem still persists, proceed as follows:
The attachment of the messages in the activation log contains a list of calculations divided into the
sections below:
• Calculations where the input planning level of stored key figures is their base planning level.
• Calculations where the input planning level of stored key figures does not match their base planning
levels.
Depending on your business requirements, make one of the following changes:
• Use the base planning level of the key figures as the input planning level in the calculation definitions.
Change only the calculations where the input planning level (where the stored value of a key figure is
used) is not the base planning level of the key figure. As result, all stored key figures will be sourced
from their base planning levels, which is the recommended approach.
• If your business requirements justify that you use the stored values of key figures at a planning level
other than their base planning levels, create a copy of each base planning level (with the same set of
root and non-root attributes), and use the stored value of the key figure at this compatible planning
level.
As a result, all stored key figures will be sourced from a planning level that is compatible with their base
planning level, that is, they share the same root and non-root attributes.
• Select one of the base planning levels listed in the attachment, and for each key figure use it as its base
planning level.
As a result, all stored key figures sourced from the same input planning level will have the same base
planning level.
5. Perform a consistency check on the planning area.
6. Activate the planning area.

with the upgrade to 2108.

Inconsistent operators can't be migrated. From now on, the system triggers a weekly migration in simulation
mode. The weekly simulation allows you to identify inconsistent operators by checking the application log.
To prepare for the automatic migration, please correct all inconsistent operators or delete them if they're
obsolete.

1.8.13 Enhancements to Copy Operator (Advanced)

A number of new processing features and usability enhancements have been added to the Copy Operator
(Advanced) and Copy Operator Profiles app.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

The following enhancements are now available in the Copy Operator Profiles app:

• The technical prerequisites for parallel processing of base level copy have been reduced. Parallel
processing can now be used in more cases. For more information, see Processing of Key Figures.
• Previously, time-independent key figures were only supported as source key figures in copy operator
profiles if they had a time-dependent request level calculation. This restriction no longer applies.
• With the new option Allow User to Change Time Selection, you can define that the profile is always executed
with the time selection defined in the profile. If you set it to No, the time selection from the profile is used
for the execution and users can't select a time range when scheduling the operator in the SAP IBP, Add-In
for Microsoft Excel or in the Application Jobs app.
• You can now specify in the application job template Copy and Disaggregate Key Figure Operator whether
you want to use the time selection from the profile at the time of the execution. If the option Use Time

Selection from Profile is set to Yes and the time selection in the profile changes between scheduling a copy
operator with this profile and its execution, the system considers this change.
• Copy operator profiles are, by default, visible in the SAP IBP, Add-In for Microsoft Excel. If they aren't
relevant for business users, you can now hide them by deselecting the Display option.
• When defining attribute selections, you can use the selection option contains for external key figures.
• You can easily navigate from an application log entry for the Copy Operator (Advanced) to the Copy
Operator Profiles app.

1.8.14 Support of Write Permission Filters for Copy Operator

(Advanced)

You can now use write permission filters to limit the data that is processed by the Copy Operator (Advanced)
according to the user's permissions. To prevent users from accidentally changing data they're not authorized to
change, you can specify in the copy operator profile whether you want the system to consider write permission
filters. This setting is optional.

The system doesn't check write permissions for existing or migrated copy operator profiles.

Additional Details

If you select Consider Permission Filter (Write) in the Copy Operator Profiles app, the system checks for all
copied values whether the user has write permissions for the associated planning objects on detail level. If the
user lacks permission, the values aren't copied and a warning is added to the log.

Please note that the checking of permission filters is an additional step that may increase run time.

1.9.4 Provision of Two BestFit Forecast Models

Two BestFit forecast models are now offered, one for products in segment A and B, and one for products in
segment C. They replace the previous Best Fit Forecast forecast model.

The reason to split the forecast model is that the auto-ARIMA/SARIMA algorithm requires more calculations
to be performed than other forecasting algorithms. To optimize performance, you can now run the
BestFit_Segment_AB forecast model, which includes the auto-ARIMA/SARIMA algorithm, for products in
segment A and B, and the BestFit_Segment_C forecast model, which does not include the auto-ARIMA/
SARIMA algorithm, for products in segment C.

for Microsoft Excel

We are planning to raise the minimum required SAP IBP, add-in for Microsoft Excel (Excel add-in) version to
2005.2.0 with the upgrade to SAP IBP 2111, planned for November 2021.

Technical Details

Types Prepare next release

Effects on Business Users

After the upgrade of the backend systems to SAP IBP 2111, users who try to connect to the SAP IBP system
with versions of the Excel add-in older than 2005.2.0, will not be able to log on.

Effects on System Administration

We recommend that you take the following mitigation steps well in advance of the change:

• Download and roll out a newer version of the Excel add-in to your user base.
• Check the System Monitoring -> Session Statistics for Excel Add-In app to identify the users that are
affected, and have them upgrade the Excel add-in in time.
• You can also set a warning for your users some time before the SAP IBP 2111 upgrade using the
global configuration parameter MINIMUM_ADDIN_VERSION. You can enter a minimum add-in version,
for example 2005.2.0. Users who are using versions of the Excel add-in older than what you set in the

parameter get a warning when logging on to SAP IBP via the Excel add-in. For more information, see Global
Configuration Parameters.

 Note

This change does not impact the maintenance window for the Excel add-in versions. Versions are in
maintenance and supported for 6 months. We are committed to keep versions whose support window
has ended compatible with newer SAP IBP backends, but we no longer provide support for them. It is
strongly recommended to upgrade the Excel add-in at least annually to benefit from the security, stability,
performance, and feature enhancements.

1.10.3 Planned Upgrade to .NET 5 and Microsoft Edge

WebView2

With the upcoming SAP IBP, add-in for Microsoft Excel 2108.2.0, which is planned to be released in August
2021, we are planning to introduce the following new software requirements:

• .NET 5.0
• Microsoft Edge WebView2 (This requirement might be postponed to the 2111.2.0 version of the SAP IBP,
add-in for Microsoft Excel.)

1.10.4 Enhanced Visualization of Key Figure Editability

The new concept for key figure editability lets you define which time period should be editable per key figure
in a more flexible way. It allows you to define more flexible editability horizons, for example, you can define
if a key figure should only be editable in the next 10 days, or not editable in the upcoming 4 weeks relative
to the current date. The SAP Integrated Business Planning, add-in for Microsoft Excel (Excel add-in) has new
formatting rules that you can use to visualize the editability of key figures in the planning views.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

Setting Up Editability Horizons

You can define editability horizons for key figures in the new Manage Editability Horizons for Key Figures app.
For more information, see Manage Editability Horizons for Key Figures.

 Note

The Manage Editability Horizons for Key Figures app is only available in normalized systems. However,
the formatting rules that you can use to visualize the editability of key figures in the Excel add-in are
available in non-normalized and normalized systems. For more information on normalization, see SAP Note
2885767 .

Visualizing Editability in the Excel Add-In

Enhanced formatting rules, available as of 2105 in the enhanced SAP IBP formatting sheet, support the
visualization of key figure editability. The following options are available:

• Default Format for Editable Cells

In this rule, you can define a format for cells in the planning view that are editable for users.
This is the only rule you need to use to format the editability of cells correctly, as opposed to previous
versions of the Excel add-in, where it was necessary to apply a number of formatting rules to achieve the
same result. We recommend that you use this setting to increase the usability of planning views.

 Note

The settings you make for key figure editability in the Manage Editability Horizons for Key Figures app
are visualized correctly only when you use the Default Format for Editable Cells rule.

• Default Format for Non-Editable Cells

In this rule, you can define a format for cells that are not editable for users.

What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105
What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105 PUBLIC 77
This rule is not used in the SAP IBP sample template for planning views, as in the sample template
non-editable cells are formatted with a background color, and it is enough to format editable cells. For
more information, see SAP Note 1790530 .

The new rules also work with existing key figure settings for editability, for example, Editable in the Current and
Future Period

 Note

We recommend that you use the new formatting rules either in the row or the column area, due to
their impact on performance. The header formatting is not affected by this. For more information, see
Formatting Rules to Visualize Key Figure Editability.

1.10.5 Enhanced SAP IBP Formatting Sheet

You can use the formatting sheet to apply your own formatting to your planning views. We have simplified the
formatting sheet options that were available before 2105, and made them easier to use. The simplification also
helps to reduce the effort for template administrators by minimizing the number of rules that need to be set up
to achieve basic formatting of the planning views in templates.

Technical Details

Types Changed

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

Since the 2005.2.0 version, the SAP Integrated Business Planning, add-in for Microsoft Excel (Excel add-in)
has been technically independent of SAP EPM-based add-ins. However, in the formatting sheet, there were still
some settings that belong to the SAP EPM formatting sheet, and are not applicable to SAP IBP.

What Has Changed

In most cases, the settings that were only used in SAP EPM had no effect on the formatting of your planning
views. We've reworked the formatting sheet options, so that they only contain settings that are relevant for SAP
IBP, as follows:

What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105
78 PUBLIC What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105
• In the section formerly called Hierarchy Level Formatting, we've left the default formatting option, and
removed the formatting options for lower levels of the hierarchy.
• In the section formerly called Dimension Member/Property Formatting, we've removed the Custom
Member Default Format option, and renamed the formatting options listed in the table below.
• We've removed the Page Axis Formatting section.

We've renamed the formatting sheet to SAP IBP Formatting Sheet, and changed the following elements in the
formatting sheet:

Old Name New Name Changes

Hierarchy Level Formatting Default Formatting The rules you set up in this section us
ing a previous version of the Excel add-
in are automatically merged with the
rules in the Default Formatting section.
The new, merged rule is used to format

3 rules in the Hierarchy Level Formatting
section .

Dimension Member/Property Member/Property Formatting No changes. The settings that you pre

viously made within this rule are pre
served in the new SAP IBP formatting
sheet.

Calculated Member Default Format Default Format for Non-Editable Cells The settings that you previously made
Inputable Member Default Format Default Format for Editable Cells within this rule are preserved in the new
SAP IBP formatting sheet.

However, the formatting results might

differ from what you are used to, as
we have corrected and enhanced the
formatting logic. Previously, the format
ting rules yielded unexpected results in
some constellations, and they weren't
recommended to be used.

Local Member Default Format Default Format for Local Member Cells No changes. The settings that you pre
viously made within this rule are pre

sheet.

Changed Member Default Format Default Format for Changed Cells No changes. The settings that you pre

What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105 PUBLIC 79
 Note

The settings you make in the Default Format for Editable Cells rule are the formatting settings that are to be
applied to cells where the key figure values are editable. This is the only rule you need to use to format the
editability of cells correctly, as opposed to previous versions of the Excel add-in, where it was necessary
to apply a number of formatting rules to achieve the same result. We recommend that you use this setting
to increase the usability of planning views.

What Remains the Same

The migration from the previous version of the formatting sheet happens automatically, when you open
a saved planning view or template with the 2105 version of the Excel add-in. There are no manual steps
necessary before you can start working with the new SAP IBP formatting sheet.

The planning views you created with older versions of the Excel add-in are not affected by the simplification of
the formatting sheet, and the formatting that you are used to remains available.

The new SAP IBP formatting sheet is compatible with previous versions of the Excel add-in. If you save a
template using the new SAP IBP formatting sheet, it can still be opened and used in older versions of the Excel
add-in.

We've migrated rules and settings that worked from a technical perspective before, so if you used them in the
previous version of the Excel add-in, you'll be able to use them in the 2105.2.0 version as well.

1.10.8 Improved Search

We have improved the search function in SAP Integrated Business Planning, add-in for Microsoft Excel (Excel
add-in). You can use the new search in search bars of the Excel add-in that have two buttons with the text Aa
and Ab on the right side of the search bar.

You can use it in the following ways:

• Search for exact strings, including string fragments (also available with the old search).
• Search for all search terms entered in the search bar. The search hits include all entered search terms, and
the order of search terms does not influence the search results.
For example, previously, the key figure Consensus Demand without Promotions was found only if you
entered the search term Consensus Demand, but not if you searched for Demand Consensus. As of 2105,
you can use both search terms to find the key figure.

You'll find new buttons added to the search bar with the text Aa and tooltips Match Case and Match Whole
Words. You can use them as follows:

• Match case: if you select this option, the search will take into account whether a search character is upper
or lower case. It lets you narrow down your results to a list of terms that are written using the same case as
the search term. For example, if you search for Word and click Match Case, the Excel add-in will find Word,
Words, Wording, but not word.
• Match whole words: if you select this option, you can narrow down your search results to occurrences of
whole search terms. If the option is selected, you must use full search terms to get search results. For
example, if you search for Word and click Match whole words, the Excel add-in will find Word, word, and My
Word, but not Words or Wording.
You can use these options in combination with each other.

The search now works with words containing some diacritics. It does so by substituting the diacritical character
with the nearest non-diacritical character. For example, if the word Völker exists in the system, you can search
for it by entering the search words Volker or Völker. You can also search for words containing other diacritics,
such as é or á.

1.13.1 Manual Forecasting for New Products

You can now define settings for manual forecasting on the Forecast Dates tab of the Manage Product Lifecycle
app. The forecasts for these dates are based exclusively on the relevant parameters for manual forecasting and
don't require reference products.

This approach is useful if no reference product is available or if the potential references aren't similar enough to
the new product, for example, regarding trend or seasonality. Using the manual forecast option, you can create
a forecast for the new product that's based on your planning experience.

1.13.2 Creation of Missing Planning Objects for New Products

You can now create the missing planning objects of a new product by copying the planning objects of a
reference product using a planning object action. Previously, this was only possible using the upload feature.
The system creates planning objects for all planning levels of the selected key figures. By default, all key figures
your administrator preselected for the planning object check in the Settings for Product Lifecycle app are
suggested, but you can add or delete key figures as needed. If the same planning level is used in several key
figures, it’s only considered once.

Additional Details

Previously, you could only use demand sensing algorithms when you ran the forecast calculation on product
ID - location ID - customer ID level or assigned the business meanings of these master data attributes to other
attributes that you chose. In the latter case, you also needed to create a new planning level with the adjusted
attributes as roots and assign all demand sensing-related mandatory technical key figures to that new planning
level. It was also mandatory to use exactly three attributes for the aggregation level.

From the current release, however, you can choose any aggregation level for demand sensing application jobs
without having to assign the previously required business meanings to the attributes in the chosen level. You
can also run demand sensing on multiple aggregation levels and choose more than three attributes for each
level if you wish.

However, you should keep the following in mind when choosing the aggregation level:

• Demand sensing can still only be run on the daily time profile level.
• The root attributes of the master data types containing the attributes you select for the aggregation level
should also be included in the base planning level of the target key figure for the forecast. Attributes such
as Lag or UoMTo cannot be used for this reason.
• Product lifecycle information cannot be considered by demand sensing if you change the default
aggregation level, which is the base planning level of the target key figure for the forecast.

Effects on Business Users

Due to technical changes that make demand sensing at any level possible, the number of decimals is
automatically set to six for values stored in the following key figures:

• SENSEDDEMANDQTY / Sensed Demand Qty

• PROMOBASELINE / Sales History w/o Promotions
• All intermediate output key figures

This change takes effect in all planning areas that were created for demand sensing before SAP IBP 2105.

Effects on Configuration

If you want to use more than one aggregation level for demand sensing, you need to create a different forecast
model for each level and specify the key figures in which the various technical outputs should be stored for

the selected level. A new section called Configuration Expert View is available for this in the Manage Forecast
Models app after you select the demand sensing (full) or demand sensing (update) algorithm and switch the
toggle button on.

We recommend that you only change the default settings in the new section if you are an advanced user of
SAP IBP for demand.

1.13.6 Categorical Variables for Auto-ARIMAX/SARIMAX

For each independent variable you choose for the auto-ARIMAX/SARIMAX algorithm in the Manage Forecast
Models app, you can now specify whether it is or isn't a categorical variable.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

Categorical variables allow the algorithms to learn from sales patterns connected to events in the past that are
expected to occur again in the future in varying periods. You can mark the past and future periods of holidays,
sport events, promotion campaigns, and many other events in this way.

For example, a holiday such as Easter has a different date each year. If you define a categorical variable for the
holidays, you can choose to save a number such as 100 in it for Easter, and the algorithm will interpret that
number as a code, not as a value. It will learn that sales values are higher in the weeks marked by 100 and
forecast higher sales values for future periods with the same code.

1.13.8 Enhanced Filtering in the Manage Forecast Automation
Profiles App

New filtering options are available on the Time Series Properties screen of the Manage Forecast Automation
Profiles app. They allow you to limit the list of planning objects by the number and dates of change points that
were identified for them based on the selected forecast automation profile.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

If you have run a forecast automation application job to detect change points in the time series of planning
objects on the selected target calculation level, you can now filter the set of displayed planning objects by one
or more of following characteristics:

• The relative quantity of change points in the time series (for example, greater than or equal to a certain
number)
• The date of the last change point in the time series
• The number of change points in a given time period, which can be defined as any of the following:
• • Period range
• Multiple periods
• Previous N periods
• Next N periods
These three types of filters can be combined for more specific results. For example, you can filter for planning
objects that had at least two change points in their time series last year and the last change point is not older
than three months.

1.14.2 Changes to Dynamic Lag for Propagation of Forecast

Error

Proper algorithm processing for dynamic lag calculation in inventory optimization requires forecast error
profiles to determine whether the forecast error coefficient of variation supports lag-based outputs. In the
2011 release, the master data type SOURCECUSTGROUPLAG was added to the sample planning areas used for
inventory optimization (SAP3 and SAPIBP1) to support the output attribute Forecast Error CV Type. However,
the functional flexibility of the forecast error profiles requires the addition of two new key figures:

• IO Lag Forecast Error CV Type Output (IOLAGFECVTYPE)

• IO Lag Forecast Error CV Type (IOLAGFORECASTERRORCVTYPE)

This feature allows you to use SAP IBP demand-driven replenishment to set and size DDMRP buffers while also
running demand-driven planning and execution in SAP S/4HANA.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

In the integrated demand-driven replenishment process for SAP IBP for Supply Chain and SAP S/4HANA, the
first three components of DDMRP are performed primarily within SAP IBP for demand-driven replenishment,
while the last two are performed within SAP S/4HANA for demand-driven replenishment. That is, buffer
positioning, sizing, and adjustment are all performed in SAP IBP. Using SAP Cloud Integration for data services,
decoupling points and buffer zones are passed to SAP S/4HANA, and a job is triggered in SAP S/4HANA to
update decoupled leadtime values. Replenishment planning and execution takes place in SAP S/4HANA.

Effects on Data Integration

For this process, two APIs from SAP S/4HANA are used: API_PRODUCT_SRV and
API_PROD_TIMEDPDNTSTCK_SRV. See the SAP API Business Hub at https://api.sap.com/ for more
information.

1.16.2 Calculated Key Figures in the Driver-Based Planning App

You can now add calculated key figures to a driver planning view. This can be handy, for example, if you have a
calculated key figure that shows the overall value of a driver and that is calculated on the basis of other stored
editable key figures in the driver planning view. This allows you to get a better picture of the impact of a driver.

 Example

You have the stored editable key figure Risk Volume in your driver planning view that you use to capture

Additional Details

The type of the key figure is indicated by an icon in various places throughout the app so you can distinguish
key figures at a glance.

Note that you need to add at least one stored editable key figure to the driver planning view. Without at least
one stored editable key figure, creating, replacing, or copying drivers is not possible.

 Tip

If you want to view only calculated key figures, you can use a planning view in the Web-Based Planning app.

Key figures that are both stored and calculated are treated like stored key figures.

Because calculated key figures are not editable, cells in the driver planning view containing the values of these
key figures are grayed out. In the separate driver view, they are shown as display only.

You can find more information in the UI help of the Driver-Based Planning app.

1.17.2 Late Delivery for Inter-Subnetwork Demand

We've made some changes to the late delivery for inter-subnetwork demand feature (only available with
the time-series-based supply planning optimizer and the time-series-based supply planning finite heuristic).
There's a new key figure Amount of IPU Demand Delivered Late at Lane (IPUDELIVEREDLATELANE) and the
behavior of the Amount of IPU Demand Delivered Late (IPUDELIVEREDLATE) existing key figure has changed.

IPUDELIVEREDLATELANE is available in the SAP4 and SAPIBP1 sample planning areas.

The values for the new output key figure IPUDELIVEREDLATELANE are automatically copied, period by period,
from the IPUDELIVEREDLATE output key figure for all sources that connect the receiving location product
to a selected upstream location product. If you only select the downstream subnetwork or only a subset of
connected upstream subnetworks, this key figure remains unchanged from the previous planning run.

The change to the existing output key figure IPUDELIVEREDLATE is that if you only select the downstream
subnetwork or only a subset of connected upstream subnetworks, its values are now cleared, with no new
values being calculated. Previously they weren't recalculated but showed values from the optimizer or finite
heuristic's previous run.

1.17.3 Time-Series-Based Supply Planning Finite Heuristic

Supports Non-Storable Customer and Location
Products

The time-series-based supply planning finite heuristic now supports non-storable customer products and
location products (considered as a soft constraint), but only for transports. This means that you can now use
the MAXINVENTORY key figure and the INVHOLDINGPOLICY attribute of the Location Product master data type
with the finite heuristic.

Outgoing transports of a location product are brought forward so that in each period, projected stock remains
at or below the value you've defined in MAXINVENTORY.

Production is still planned as late as possible.

1.17.4 Time-Series-Based Supply Planning Optimizer Now
Respects Aggregated Constraints During Time
Aggregation

In normalized systems only, aggregated constraints during time aggregation are now respected by the time-
series-based supply planning optimizer, whereas previously they weren't.

For example, if you've defined minimum and maximum aggregated constraint key figures for the weekly
time-aggregation horizon, they're added up and set as the minimum or maximum aggregated constraint key
figure for the weekly period. But if, for at least one day in a week, no maximum aggregated constraint key
figure has been set, this doesn't happen. The values are only added up and set as the maximum aggregated
constraint key figure for the week if a maximum aggregated constraint key figure has been set for each day of
the week.

For both minimum and maximum aggregated inventory constraints, no changes are applied for aggregated
weeks because the inventory itself isn't being aggregated; the aggregated inventory constraints are considered
as they are.

1.18.1 Names of Multiple Forecast Key Figures Shown in OBP

Apps

In transactional OBP apps, the key figure names from the planning area are now shown for multiple forecast
key figures that have been assigned in the Settings for Order-Based Planning app. Filters and column headings
in the following apps have been enriched with this information:

• Projected Stock
• Analyze Supply Usage
• View Gating Factors
• View Demands by Priority
• Order Network screen, accessible from the View Confirmations, Projected Stock, Analyze Supply Usage,
View Gating Factors, and View Demands by Priority apps

The information is displayed as follows: <name from planning area> (Forecast). Previously, only the text Open
Forecast was displayed. In case of multiple forecast key figures, you now get more precise information about
the quantity that is shown. This comes in very handy if you are planning based on key figures only. Fore more
information, see SAP Note 3032591 .

For single forecast key figures, the text displayed has changed from Open Forecast to Forecast in the same
apps. Accordingly, the forecast-related value of the DemandType attribute has been renamed from Open
Forecast to Forecast in the Planning Run Profiles app.

 Caution

If you have saved a variant using Open Forecast as a filter in one of the transactional apps, the variant won’t
work anymore. Please adapt the filter value to one of the new options available.

1.18.2 Interactive Planning with Key Figures

We've introduced new interactive planning options that enable you to create, fix, unfix, or delete certain
planned receipts manually when planning with key figures.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

You can now do the following:

• Create purchase requisitions, stock transfer requisitions, and planned orders

• Fix or unfix purchase requisitions, stock transfer requisitions, and planned orders
• Delete purchase requisitions, stock transfer requisitions, deployment stock transfer requisitions, and
planned orders

Effects on Business Users

In the SAP Integrated Business Planning, add-in for Microsoft Excel (Excel add-in) or in the Web-Based Planning
app, if you want to create receipts manually, you can now enter values for the new key figures for interactive
planning to specify the quantities that you want to create. You run the corresponding application job, either as
a template from the Excel add-in or in the Application Jobs or Application Jobs - Order-Based Planning app, and
the planned receipts are created accordingly.

New application jobs are also available to fix or unfix planned receipts, and to delete planned receipts.

For more information, see Making Interactive Changes with Key Figures.

Effects on System Administration

We’ve introduced three new application jobs for this feature:

• Order-Based Planning: Create Planned Receipts from Interactive Key Figures

• Order-Based Planning: Fix or Unfix Planned Receipts
• Order-Based Planning: Delete Planned Receipts

You can use these to set up application job templates for interactive planning. For more information about
these application jobs, see Application Jobs ‒ Order-Based Planning.

Effects on Configuration

The SAP7 planning area has two new key figures for interactive planning:

• Distribution Receipt for Interactive Planning (INTDISTRECEIPTLANE)

• Production Receipt for Interactive Planning (INTPRODRECEIPTLANE)

You need to map these key figures in the Settings for Order-Based Planning app. They provide the planning level
information required to identify the transportation lane or production data structure, and thus determine which
receipts are to be created, fixed, unfixed, or deleted.

For more information about these key figures, see Key Figures for Interactive Planning.

To support this functionality, the following new key figures have been added to SAP7 to allow you to
differentiate between fixed and unfixed orders on the level of a production data structure (PDS):

• On the PERPDS planning level:

• Production Planned Fixed (PDS) (PRODPLANNEDPDSFIXED)
• Production Planned Unfixed (PDS) (PRODPLANNEDPDSUNFIXED)
• Production Planned Fixed (PDS; Goods Receipt) (PRODPLANNEDPDSGRFIXED)
• Production Planned Unfixed (PDS; Goods Receipt) (PRODPLANNEDPDSGRUNFIXED)
• On the PERPDSCOMP planning level:
• Dependent Demand Planned Fixed (PDS) (DEPDEMANDPLANPDSFIXED)
• Dependent Demand Planned Unfixed (PDS) (DEPDEMANDPLANPDSUNFIXED)

See also: Fixed and Unfixed Key Figures

To provide fixed and unfixed key figures for material quantity in a production data structure at the goods receipt
date when a planned order is finished or delivered, the original key figure Production Planned (PDS; Goods
Receipt) (PRODPLANNEDPDSGR) has been added to the SAP7 sample planning area.

1.18.4 Rule-Based Switchable Constraints

In the Planning Run Profiles app, you can now control switchable constraints on the level of planning objects. By
defining rules, you can deactivate constraints for certain combinations of object and attribute values, such as a
specific product number in a specific location. (In the case of the Detailed Planning and Scheduling Horizon, the
logic is reversed, so you can activate it for certain planning objects.)

 Example

Deactivation of Supplier Constraint for One Supplier

Let's assume you face a significant increase in demand. You reach out to one of your suppliers and ask
them to provide unlimited supply. The supplier commits to delivering whatever is needed. Therefore, you
want the supplier constraint to be disregarded for that supplier. For more information about how to set up a
suitable rule, see Rules for Switching Constraints.

OBP.

You can use the new feature to propagate independent demands for finished goods through the supply chain
up to the level of purchasing components, ignoring potential constraints in the upstream subnetworks.

The following planning runs support upstream planning with subnetworks:

• Order-Based Planning: Confirmation Run

• Order-Based Planning: Constrained Forecast Run using the finite heuristic
• Order-Based Planning: Constrained Forecast Run using the optimizer

In planning runs that use the finite heuristic, you can now decide to push excess stock – stock above the
maximum stock level – to the next supply chain level. You can use this feature to, for example, define locations

as excess.

You find the Push Excess Stock to Next Supply Chain Level option in the Planning Run Profiles app. When this
feature is turned on, the finite heuristic performs a planning run as usual, but additionally performs another
calculation sequence before finishing. Only in this sequence, it checks the maximum stock key figure and
handles the excess stock according to the type of excess stock.

1.19.1 End of Support for Internet Explorer 11

Microsoft announced that beginning August 17, 2021, Microsoft 365 apps and services will no longer support
Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) (see https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-365-blog/microsoft-365-
apps-say-farewell-to-internet-explorer-11-and/ba-p/1591666 ).

Following up on this announcement, as of SAP IBP 2108, the SAP Fiori launchpad no longer supports IE 11,
as announced in SAP IBP 2102 and SAP IBP 2105. As of SAP IBP 2108, you need to use a different browser
supported by SAP IBP to access apps in the SAP Fiori launchpad. For more information about browsers
supported by SAP IBP, see Supported Browsers and SAP Notes 2135948 and 3047969 .

For all SAP Integrated Business Planning, add-in for Microsoft Excel (Excel add-in) versions older than 2108.2.0,
we’ve communicated that a local installation of IE 11 is needed as a prerequisite for the installation of the Excel
add-in.

Technically, we're using the underlying platform of IE 11, which is called MSHTML (Trident) engine. The
MSHTML engine is part of the Microsoft Windows operating system (included in Windows 10, 8 and 7). This
engine will be used for Internet Explorer (IE) mode, and according to Microsoft, it will continue to be supported
at least through 2029. Microsoft explicitly mentions that third-party apps that rely on the MSHTML platform
are expected to continue to work. In addition, the MSHTML engine will also exist as part of the Windows 11
operating system, so the Excel add-in will keep working with Windows 11.

In conclusion, IE 11 can be deactivated or even uninstalled from users’ PCs without having any issues with
the Excel add-in, provided that supported versions of Windows are used.

with other users or user groups. As of this release, you can now share change history views yourself. Sharing
change history views is handy if you want to discuss changes that have been made to the plan with your
colleagues, and you want them to be able to see the same changes as you do. To share a change history view,

1.19.7 Machine Learning for Master Data Consistency

You can use this feature to improve master data quality for planning in SAP IBP using machine learning.
Machine learning can learn semantic rules to identify problems in master data and recommend values for
correction. This helps reduce manual efforts in preparing data for planning.

Technical Details

Types New

Available as of 2105

Additional Details

Machine learning for data consistency is run as an application job using the job template ML Master Data
Consistency.

Machine learning can identify the semantic relations and patterns in master data and derive association rules.
From the derived rules, the algorithm identifies outliers with higher probability of confidence and recommends
values for the outliers.

From the generated rules and recommendations, you can decide if the rules adhere to the business semantics,
and if the generated outliers and recommendations are valid. Then you can make relevant changes to the
master data, either in the source system or in SAP IBP.

You can train the algorithm and test data once, or periodically.

To run the ML Master Data Consistency application job:

What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105
What's New in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105 PUBLIC 127
1. In the Application Jobs app, choose Create.
2. In the Job Template field, select ML Master Data Consistency. Edit the job name, if desired, then choose
Step 2.
3. Set your scheduling options, and choose Step 3.
4. Select the master data type to be profiled.

 Note

Only one master data type can be selected. If you wish to profile another master data type, you must
schedule another job with that master data type.

5. Select the master data type attributes you want to be profiled.

 Note

Only categorical attributes can be selected. Numeric and time stamp attributes are not currently
supported. We suggest not including all attributes. Please only profile attributes that have an impact on
planning, and select less than ten attributes. Hierarchical attributes and attributes such as UOMID and
MATERIALTYPE are good examples of attributes to profile. Attributes with sparse values should not be
included, as they do no help in identifying rules.

6. If you want to profile the master data on a subset of data, select a planning filter.
7. Optionally, under Calculation Setting, you can tune the parameters for the model, though we recommend
running the scenario with the default values. You can set the following:
• Min Support is the percentage of data that supports a rule. For example, if the rule is A,B->D, then
support is the percentage of both A,B (left-hand side of the rule) and D (right-hand side of the rule)
present in the data. That is: (The number of A and B and D together)/(total data).
• Min Confidence is the minimal probability for a rule being correct when applied to data. That is, the
minimal probability to observe the right-hand side of a rule when observing the left-hand side.
• Min Lift is a factor that represents the probability gain to observe the right-hand side of a rule when
having the knowledge that the left-hand side can be applied, in contrast to having no knowledge
about the rule at all. 0.5 = no gain, instead halved probability; 1 = neither gain, nor loss; 2 = doubled
probability
• Max Items in Antecedent are the maximum number of attributes that are allowed to appear in the
antecedent (left-hand side of the rule).
8. Choose Schedule to schedule the application job.

The results of the application job are available as a .csv file in the job log.

Additional Details

K-means is a cluster analysis method based on machine learning. In ABC segmentation, you can use it to group
planning objects with similar volumes based on the segmentation measure. In XYZ segmentation, you can use
it to group planning objects with similar coefficients of variation.

In both cases, the system creates increasingly homogeneous segments through several iterations until the
smallest possible variance within each segment is reached. Consequently, you don’t need to set thresholds for
the segments if this method is selected.

 Note

In rare cases, it may happen that the K-means method calculates slightly different results when run
repeatedly on the same data set.

1.20.1 New App: Procedure Playbooks

You can use this new app to define standardized procedures for solving supply chain planning issues and share
them with other users or user groups. A procedure playbook can provide an overview of the issues that it helps
resolve, the reasons for the issues, and the activities and actions that can be taken to resolve them. When an
issue is detected, for example, in a custom alert, users with whom a procedure playbook has been shared can
use the playbook while trying to resolve the issue.

Additional Details

You can create a procedure playbook in the Procedure Playbooks app. You create it for a planning area and
an app area where it can be used, for example, custom alerts. You can include a detailed description with an
overview of the issues that the procedure playbook helps resolve and the possible reasons for the issues. You
can also define activities and actions that can be taken to resolve the issues. You share a procedure playbook
with other users or user groups.

When you create, copy, or edit a custom alert definition in the Define and Subscribe to Custom Alerts app, you
can now add one or more procedure playbooks to your definition in a new step of the wizard. You can add
procedure playbooks to your custom alert definition only if you've created them or if they've been shared with
you in the Procedure Playbooks app. In addition, the planning area of a procedure playbook must be the same
