Learning Differently
All through grade school, I struggled. I was tutored every week. I felt happy if I got a D. I never
got an A or a B. Information seemed to leave my mind as fast as it entered it . I was called
“stupid” and “lazy”. I was told that I was not “trying my best” I felt terrible about myself.
I wish I’d known then what now: I have dyslexia. My brain learns differently. I didn’t find this
out until I was 20 years old. A learning disability can really affect the way you feel about
yourself. Now I know that even if a person learns differently, he or she can still be filled with
greatness. Every one of us has something special inside.

The Rainy Day
