Logic Gates 1
Logic Gates
There are seven types of logic gates:
1. AND Gate
2. OR Gate
3. NOT Gate
4. NAND Gate
5. NOR Gate
6. XOR (Exclusive OR) Gate
7. XNOR (Exclusive NOR) Gate
Types of Logic Gates:
1. Basic Gates:
o AND
o OR
o NOT
2. Exclusive Gates:
o XOR
o XNOR
3. Universal Gates:
o NAND
o NOR
Boolean Algebra Notations:
1. Dot Sign (·):
o Represents the AND operation in Boolean algebra.
o Example: A⋅BA \cdot B is the AND operation.
2. Plus Sign (+):
o Represents the OR operation in Boolean algebra.
o Example: A+BA + B is the OR operation.
Operating Systems:
1. General Motors (GMOS):
o The first operating system developed in the 1950s.
2. Windows:
o MS-DOS: Early versions developed by Microsoft.
o Windows 95, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 10, and
the latest Windows 11.
3. MacOS:
o Developed by Apple; co-founded by Steve Jobs and Steve
Wozniak.
4. Linux:
o Developed by Linus Torvalds in 1991.
5. Unix:
o Developed by Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie at Bell
Labs.
