Abstract
This project focuses on enhancing food packaging practices in local shops across rural
areas, carried out by Vemana Institute of Technology students under Vidvath India
Foundation (R). The initiative aims to introduce safe, sustainable, and cost-effective food
packaging techniques to minimize food contamination, reduce plastic waste, and ensure the
longevity of food products. The project was implemented in Arakere and
Singanayakanahalli Grama Panchayathi villages, aligning with sustainable development
goals and food safety standards.

Food packaging plays a crucial role in maintaining food safety, preventing contamination,
and extending shelf life. In rural areas, improper packaging often leads to food wastage and
health risks. This project aims to educate shopkeepers and vendors on safe and eco-friendly
packaging solutions while reducing reliance on plastic. The key objectives are:
