A Detailed Lesson Plan in Computer

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson the student should be able to:

a) Define the Computer Hardware System.

b) Appreciate the importance of Computers in our daily life.
c) Identify the important parts of Computer System of and their functions.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Parts of the Computer System

References: Ronaldo V. Ramilo (2014) ICT Computer Hardware Servicing page 6-10

Materials: Teacher’s Laptop, Projector, PowerPoint, Visual Aids

Subject Integration: Science

Values to be learned: Appreciation and Cooperation

III. Learning Activities or Procedure:

A. Preliminary Activities
Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity
Prayer:

Let us all stand for a prayer, Ms. Vente kindly lead the prayer. The students start praying.

Good Morning class?

Do you have any questions regarding our last topic? If there’s
none we may now proceed our new discussion this day.
Motivation:

Before we proceed to our discussion for today, let us have a

short game. The game will be called “Guessing Game” are
you familiar with that game? (Students will listen)

Base on the activity, what do you think is our topic for this
Day?
Yes, Ms. Pepe

Oh! Very good you got the correct answer. Let’s give three I think our topic this day, is all
clap for Ms. Pepe about Parts of the Computer
System.

Students clapping their hands

I guess all of you already have and idea for today’s lesson
since it has its connection. But before anything else I want
everyone to read the objectives for our lesson today. Objectives: At the end of the
lesson the students should be
able to:

a) Define the Computer

Hardware System,
b) Appreciate the
importance of computers
in our daily life; and
c) Identify the important
parts of computer
system and their
functions.

Activity:

Now as you notice there’s a Little Letter on your armchair I

want you to look at it

What do you see?

(A letter Sir)

Each of you has a different letter now I want you to find your
classmate that has a same letter and that will be your group
mates.

Now I have 2 envelope here choose your representative to

choose 1 envelope, This activity we called it “Step of
operation” inside the envelope there is cartolina with a
puzzled picture and puzzled words , now I want you to
arrange the picture, words and present on the front of what do
you think is that picture. Understand?
Yes, Sir!

(Each group will do their task)

Are you done? Yes, Sir!

Lets, Welcome the Group A to present their works (Group A representative will
present their work)

(COMPUTER MONITOR)

The picture shows a

COMPUTER MONITOR and
this is very important because…

Job well done group A.

Let’s give a ang galing clap for group A No, Sir

Do you know the ang galing clap class?

So it goes like this ( the teacher will execute the ang galing (Students will do the ang galing
clap) so lets do it together clap )

Let’s proceed to the group B. (Group B representative will

present their work)

(COMPUTER KEYBOARD)

The picture shows the

COMPUTER KEYBOARD and
this is part of a computer system
and it is…
(Students will do the ang galing
clap)

Job well done group B.

Let’s give a ang galing clap for group B

Analysis:
From the activity that we have;

Guide questions:

1. What is Computer? Student’s answer may vary

2. Why is it important to know the Parts of Computer? Student’s answer may vary
3.Can you give me at least 3 Parts of Computer? Student’s answer may vary

Very well said class, all your answers are correct. Let’s give
them a barangay clap.
Students clap their hands
Abstraction:

A computer is an electronic device that manipulates

information, or data. It has the ability to store, retrieve,
and process data. You may already know that you can use a
computer to type documents, send email, play games,
and browse the Web. You can also use it to edit or
create spreadsheets, presentations, and even videos.

In Addition each component plays an important role, without

each other computer systems will not work properly.

And now let’s talk about the Parts of Computer System

A computer has many parts and each part has its own job. Lets
pretend that a computer is a person

First

CPU:
A central processing unit (CPU) is a
hardware component that's the core computational unit in a
server. Servers and other smart devices convert data into
digital signals and perform mathematical operations on them.
The CPU is the primary component that processes the signals
and makes computing possible.

Motherboard:

A computer's motherboard is typically the largest printed

circuit board in a machine's chassis. It distributes electricity
and facilitates communication between and to the central
processing unit (CPU), random access memory (RAM), and
any other component of the computer's hardware.

RAM:

RAM is a common computing acronym that stands

for random-access memory. Sometimes it's called PC memory
or just memory. In essence, RAM is your computer or laptop's
short-term memory.

Power Supply:
A power supply unit (PSU) is a hardware device that
converts AC electricity into DC electricity and then distributes
it to the rest of the computer. On a standard desktop computer,
the PSU is where the power cord plugs into and usually has an
I/O power switch on it.

Hard Drive:

A hard drive or hard disk drive (HDD) is a type of data

storage device that is used in laptops and desktop computers.
An HDD is a “non-volatile” storage drive, which means it can
retain the stored data even when no power is supplied to the
device.

Video Card:

A video card connects to the

motherboard of a computer system and generates output
images to display. Video cards are also referred to as graphics
cards. Video cards include a processing unit, memory, a
cooling mechanism and connections to a display device.

Sir computer parts is like a

person sir.

Very good class

Yes, sir we all understand.
Thank you

Do you understand the parts and function of computer system

class?

Application:
okay, sir
At this time, I will group you into two (2) groups. Lets start
the count at the back and watch a short clip, and answer the
following Question.

 After watching the videos, answer the following

questions:
Can you cite the different parts components of
computer showed in the video?
Do the components play an important role in
the computer system? explain your answer.

And choose one(1) representative to explain in front.

understand? Yes sir
