Paper 55: The Influence of Climate Change on Global Agricultural Trends

Abstract

Climate change is altering agricultural productivity worldwide. This paper reviews recent data on temperature

and precipitation shifts and their impact on crop yields, proposing adaptive strategies for sustainable

agriculture.

Introduction

Agriculture is highly sensitive to climate variables. Changes in temperature, rainfall, and extreme weather

events affect food production and global food security.

Methodology

We analyzed global datasets from FAO and NASA, reviewed crop modeling studies, and interviewed farmers

across climate-vulnerable regions.

Results

Wheat and maize yields declined in tropical regions by 10-15% due to heat stress. Adaptation strategies such

as drought-resistant crops showed promising results in trials.

Conclusion

Climate-resilient farming practices are essential to meet future food demands. Policies supporting research

and education in sustainable agriculture are urgently needed.
