SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (SIP) -2025

All students must fulfil all the requirements regarding conducting the
SUMMER INTERNSHIP work and submission of 'INTERNSHIP
PROJECT REPORT' mentioned in this document.
The Academic Department, Career Management Department, the program office, and Exam
Department shall be responsible to ensure that all the requirements
mentioned in this document on 'Summer Internship Project Report'
are complied with, by the students.
The duration for the training will be 12 weeks (7th April-30th June ‘25)

Important Timelines:
Submission of Project Registration Form to Faculty guide: On or before Monday, 15th
April, 2025
Introductory report to be submitted to the faculty guide: 2nd May, 2025
Intermedial report to be submitted to the faculty guide: 15th May, 2025
Correspondence/ Communication with the Faculty guide: Once a week.
Submission of Final report to Faculty guide: On or before 15th
July, 2025
Viva for the Summer Internship Project report: 31st – July, 2025

I. Introduction to 'Summer Internship Project Report'

Summer Internship Project is a research assignment to be completed in


partial fulfilment of the MBA requirements and to be submitted in MBA
fourth trimester. Summer Internship Project is a study on any topic in
management i.e. topics in the functional areas of management or certain
special aspects of the management processes namely planning,
organizing, direction, execution, control, staffing, motivation et al in the
area of Marketing, Finance, Operations and Human Resources. In addition,
Summer Internship Project may be a study on any state-of- the art areas

of management like Information Technology, Supply Chain Management,
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Resource (HR) Practices,
Banking, Balanced Scorecard, Branding, Advertising, Total Quality
Management and so on. However, the final outcome of any project has to
be a specific contribution to management based on observations,
fieldwork, survey, case studies, practical experiences and other sources of
data.

II. Objective

The objective of the project would be-

 To facilitate every student to do research work in any area of


management
 To explore any specific industry, its current scenario, challenges and
opportunities
 To enable students, explore the field of specialization viz. Marketing,
Finance, operations, or Human Resource Management.
 To inculcate research acumen in management students

III. Project Contents

Every project should include the following; however, this list is illustrative
and by no means
exhaustive-

 Chapter One- Introduction


 Chapter Two- Description of the Internship project/ tasks/activities.
 Chapter Three- Data Description and Analysis
 Chapter Four- Analysis and learning outcomes.
 Chapter Five- Conclusions

V. Project Pedagogy
Summer Internship Project work is designed to offer special on-the-job learning experience to
the students. The learners have to select any one topic related to their elected specialization
based on their interest and discussion with their guide and departmental head of the
organization where he/ she is doing his/her summer internship.
Learner needs to register the topic by filling Registration Form given in the Annexure No. I
V. Project Procedure

Learners are required to work on the project for 12 weeks starting from7th
April to 30th June 2025 and submit the Project Report in the standard
format to the Institute after completion for
the specified duration.

Learners must identify the topic for the project work and submit their
registration form to the
institute by 15 April 2025.

Faculty guide will be appointed for guiding the learners for their summer
projects and he/she will have continuous monitoring of the progress made
by the student in the project.

Last date for the submission of the Summer Internship Project Reports is
15th July, 2025

The Summer Internship Project has been given weightage and therefore
has been assigned 8
credit points.

Projects are individual project work and not joint/group projects

Project Report has to follow a given sequence for registration,


certification, submission
followed by Viva-Voce Examination.

VI. Company Guide

Every learner needs to get his/her name duly registered with the allocated
project guide and present the registration form to the office on or before
15th April, 2025. Company Registration Form should be duly signed by
the respective Guide.

A Company guide will facilitate learner’s work on the project. Company


Guide will have
continuous monitoring of the progress made by the student in project. The
major contribution will naturally come from students, who are expected to
communicate with their respective project guide for the following:

 Selection of topic for the project


 Periodic review meetings and discussions, depending upon the
understanding between the student and the Guide
 Project report preparation and acceptance by the Guide

VII. Faculty Guidance

At the outset Faculty guide will agree a schedule of work with learners and
will establish how

frequently communication will be required. Normally the pattern of
supervision will be as follows:
Learner can normally expect a minimum of 12 times communication with
their guide to
identify an appropriate topic area and to discuss the project work.
The responsibility is on the student to make the necessary appointments,
telephonic
communications, online meetings, etc. such that they derive maximum
benefit from these sessions.
The guide will keep a written record of all meetings, normally using the
“Record of
Communications/ Meetings with Company guide” (see Annexure No. II).
Where guidance is carried out remotely (e.g. by email), evidence of
guidance will take the
form of email correspondence between guide and students. Faculty guides
are asked to aim to reply to any correspondence relating to report
(including email correspondence) and to return
comments on submitted work within a fortnight of receipt. Students
should not expect instant
responses to e-mails.

At all times it is the responsibility of the learner to maintain adequate


contact with their Guide and to keep their Guide informed of their
progress.

VIII. Formatting & Printing for the Summer Internship Project

The report must be typed in A4 Size paper (8 ½ X 11 ½ )

 2” margin on the left side of the paper and 1” from other three sides
except for drawing,
graphs and maps on which no restriction is placed
 Chapter Heading- Times New Roman Font, 16 Font Size, Capital
Letters, Bold
 Heading- Times New Roman Font, 14 Font Size, Bold
 Sub-heading- Times New Roman Font, 12 Font Size, Bold
 Normal Text - Times New Roman Font, 12 Font Size
 Line spacing 1.5 lines

IX. Submission of the Summer Internship Project

Deadline for Submission Soft copy of Summer Internship Project is 05th


July 2025

Two hard copies of the project report (Bound Book with Black Resin Cover
and Golden
Embossing) shall be submitted to Faculty Guide by 15 July.

Two copies of Synopsis write-up shall be submitted along with the


Summer Internship
Project (see Annexure No. XII)

IX. Evaluation of the Summer Internship Project

Project will be evaluated on the three parameters namely originality, tools


and techniques
used and project contents in terms of clarity, logic, language and
presentation.

Viva Voce Examination will be conducted on Saturday 31st July, 2025

Since the dates for Viva Voce examinations are already fixed and external
referees are
invited, students are required to complete and submit their Summer
Internship Project on
or before the deadline.

The evaluation criteria will be made transparent to the students.

Viva - Voce will be held through a panel of internal and external panels.

Evaluation Parameters

Internal Assessment 100 Marks

The Summer Internship Project work in the area of specialization will carry
100 marks,
to be allocated on the basis of Situation Analysis & Problem Definition,
Literature
Review (Secondary Data), Methodology of Study, Data Analysis,
Conclusions &
Recommendations, Guide’s assessment of project progress of student and
Viva voce examination.
