ACADEMIC INTEGRITY PLEDGE

I swear on my honor that I did not use any inappropriate aid, nor give such to
others, in accomplishing this coursework. I understand that cheating and/or
plagiarism is a major offense, as stated in TIP Memorandum No. P-04, s. 2017-
2018, and that I will be sanctioned appropriately once I have committed such
acts.

ENGINEERING FIELDS

I. CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

According to the U.S., chemical

engineers apply their scientific
knowledge to solve issues that affect
the usage or manufacture of
chemicals, food, medications, and
more. These sciences include
chemistry, biology, physics, and
math. Occupational Labor Statistics
(BLS). According to the BLS, nearly all
of them have full-time jobs and
frequently work in offices and
laboratories.

According to the American Chemical Society, chemical engineers

use their expertise in manufacturing and the sciences to translate
chemical processes created in a laboratory into a commercial or industrial
process to make products. They then assess and enhance those processes
(ACS).

Chemical engineers transform laboratory techniques into real-world

applications for the manufacture of goods for sale, and they subsequently
work to maintain and enhance those processes. They rely on the three
basic pillars of engineering: physics, math, and chemistry (though biology
is playing an increasing role). Designing and troubleshooting processes for
the manufacture of chemicals, fuels, foods, pharmaceuticals, and
biologicals, to name a few, is the main responsibility of chemical
engineers. Large-scale industrial facilities use them most frequently to
enhance productivity and product quality while lowering expenses.
Engineering in the biological or nuclear fields, as well as specialists
or technicians in occupational and health safety, are comparable
professions, according to the BLS.

II. AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING

Agricultural engineering
involves designing, developing and
improving farm machinery,
equipment and technology to
improve a farm's efficiency. Their
primary goal is to ensure farms are
sustainable and environmentally
friendly. They use their engineering
skills and knowledge to evaluate
and solve issues like pollution
control, natural resources
management, sustainable
agricultural production, the environmental effects of intensive agriculture
and how farms handle agricultural products following harvests.
While they primarily focus on agricultural land and equipment, they
may also design and build different agricultural infrastructures, like
warehouses, water reservoirs and dams. Agricultural engineering is a
multifaceted career that integrates innovative technology like artificial
intelligence with farming. It combines elements of mechanical, civil,
electrical and chemical engineering with agricultural principles.
Here are the common daily duties and responsibilities of agricultural
engineers:
 Develop and maintain agricultural machinery, structures and
equipment that complete basic farming tasks like harvesting,
spraying and seeding
 Design agricultural machinery and equipment whilst preparing
drawings that specify the required materials and the method
of manufacturing and construction
 Plan and develop designs for drainage, irrigation and flood and
water control systems
 Inspect and perform tests on their farm equipment designs to
ensure they comply with local, state and federal agricultural
safety standards and regulations.

III. COMPUTER HARDWARE ENGINEERING

Computer Hardware Engineers
work with the hardware
configurations of the systems used.
They are responsible for updating
the systems with faster and more
efficient parts and microprocessors.
They analyze the old systems, find
bugs in them, take feedback and
requirements from the user and
modify them accordingly using the
best problem-solving techniques.
They need to be up-to-date with all
recent advancements in technology
and hardware used increase the
efficiency and the speed.
Along with modifying/building new systems with better
configurations, they also need to test the existing system to keep a
constant check if the systems meet the company requirements. They are
also responsible for providing technical support to their clients, customers,
and colleagues.
These are the responsibilities of computer hardware engineer: -
 Design and oversee the production of computer hardware
equipment.
 Test and re-test parts to ensure they work properly.
 Identify and isolate defects.
 Design and develop software systems that control computers.
 Design and test circuits and other electronic components.
 Test work and refine processes.

IV. INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING

Industrial engineering is a
branch of engineering
management concerned with
how to make or do things
better, crossing a range of
disciplines associated with
manufacturing industrial or
consumer products. This may
involve increasing efficiency,
reducing production costs,
improving quality control,
ensuring the health and safety
of employees, protecting the
environment or complying with government regulations.
Industrial engineers work to reduce any waste of time, money,
materials, energy or other commodities by streamlining procedures and
processes. This is achieved through the application of specialist
knowledge and skills to specify, predict and evaluate results from
processes and systems. The results of this allow for new processes and
systems to be produced, with business administration activities
overlapping with areas such as production and manufacturing
engineering, operations research, systems and supply chain engineering,
management science and engineering, safety engineering, ergonomic and
logistics engineering and more depending on the needs of the user.

V. MARINE ENGINEERING
Marine engineering is the
field of study that deals with the
design, development, production
and maintenance of the
equipment used at sea and
onboard sea vessels like boats,
ships etc.
A marine engineer (or ship
engineer), works in researching,
developing, and constructing new
marine vessels and their
component parts. This includes
creating blueprints, designing engines and propulsion systems, testing
prototypes, and supervising the construction of full size ships.
Marine engineers can choose to work on certain types of vessels (for
example, passenger boats, sailboats, cruise ships, submarines, or military
battleships and aircraft carriers). He or she often oversees the
construction of prototypes and helps to test and tweak finished boats.
Marine engineers are responsible for designing on-board systems
such as:
 Steering or control systems
 Propulsion systems (gas turbine, diesel engine, or
nuclear reactor)
 Mechanical and electrical systems

VI. HEALTHY AND SAFETY ENGINEERING

Health and safety engineers combine knowledge of engineering and
of health and safety to develop procedures and design systems to protect
people from illness and injury and property from damage.
Health and safety engineers are responsible for ensuring a safe
work environment for all employees and visitors.2 They design the
environments and systems that will keep a workplace as safe as possible
to minimize danger and reduce the risk of injuries.
Health and safety engineers don't enforce the following of rules or
oversee safety at a workplace directly; instead, they work behind the
scenes to develop rules and methods to promote a safe and healthy
environment, either in the workplace or on construction sites. They may
collaborate with others who are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day
safety of a workplace, but their focus is usually on developing systems for
others to follow.

VII. BIOMOLECULAR ENGINEERING

Biomolecular Engineering
is an emerging discipline at the
interface of molecular biology,
biophysical chemistry, and
chemical engineering whose
express purpose is developing
novel molecular tools, materials
and approaches that are the
focal point of applied and basic
research within academia,
industry and medicine. This
effort includes both multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary activities,
including applied mathematics and computer science, physical chemistry,
synthetic and molecular biology, material science and molecular
biophysics. The prime goal of these advanced studies is to translate our
understanding of the fundamental principles of physical biochemistry into
useful processes, devices, therapies, and diagnostics that will benefit
society and advance human health.
