MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROJECT FOR CLASS VI (MATHEMATICS)

TOPIC: FOOD & HEALTH


1. MATH IN MY MEAL: Understanding Food and Health Through Numbers
i) Record your diet for 5 days in a tabular form as shown:

ii) Make a pictograph showing the types of food consumed over the week, e.g.:

iii) ANALYSIS (Answer the following questions):
• How many calories did you consume in 5 days?
• Which food group do you eat the most/least?
• What is the total number of food items you ate over the week?
• On which day did you eat the maximum number of calories?
• Which food group did you consume the least during the week?
• What is the average number of calories you consumed per day?
• Which meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner) had the highest calorie intake?

2. SUGAR CHECK: How sweet is your snack?

• Collect wrappers/labels of common snacks and drinks.


• Note sugar content per serving.
• Calculate total sugar eaten in a week.
• Represent in a bar graph.

HOLIDAY HOMEWORK FOR CLASS VI MATHEMATICS (To be done in Scrapbook)


1. Write at least 5 different mathematical patterns that you observe in the year 2025.
2. Draw or paste the picture of your birthday month. Observe and explain the different patterns you can find.
3. Draw or paste 10 pictures of objects around us where you see beautiful patterns.
4. Create the shape pattern for Virhanka or Fibonacci numbers.
5. LEARNER’S DIARY: Write down the following in your learner’s diary (Separate notebook)
