o Add the relevant local major roads using
the AusMap plugin or other credible
sources.
Green Energy Infrastructure focus:
Insert a notional 1km x 1km site for a

prospective windfarm near to the town and
indicate a 1 km buffer around this site.
Identify and integrate into the map the
nearest transmission line or substation where
you will connect into, ie from the Western Power
SWIS network maps or the Horizon Power
regional maps.
Will the wind farm improve grid management
problems, eg the “duck curve” on the SWIS? How about
regional town islanded grids? What other steps can be
taken in the energy transition away from fossil energy?
Mapping Quality:
o Accuracy, clarity, detail

o Scale bar, N-S arrow, layout balance and a
legend; Symbology (appropriate coloring),
labeling of site elements, correct file/map
name, data source used
o Consideration and presentation of any
buffers, access requirements and exclusion
zones etc.
