3. The stage in the main work area in Animate. ______________
4. The Tools panel contains a set of tools to choose from. ______________
In your previous class, you have learned to make drawings using various
shape tools. In this chapter, we will move forward to work on moving these
objects on the stage to create beautiful animations. Animation is the process
used for digitally generating animated images. Adobe Animate CC
automatically creates animations where user has to just define the properties
between the first and the last frames. Well, this movement in-between these
frames is known as Tween. There are three types of tweens provided by
Animate CC. So, let’s learn about them.
CREATING A MOTION TWEEN:
In motion tween, symbols are used for creating movements in size, rotation
changes, fades, and color effects. You can create motion tween by following
the steps given below:
Step 1: first, create a new document in Animate CC and draw an object that
you wish to move on the stage. Here, we have drawn a circle. Now, convert the
object into a Movie Clip symbol.
Step 3: Drag the object in the left-hand side of the stage using the Selection
tool.
Step 4: Now, right click and select the Insert Motion Tween option from
the menu bar.
Step 5: The Timeline is incremented to Frame 24, by default, and the play
head shifts to Frame 24. Here, the default setting in Animate is set to 24
Frames Per Second (FPS) which will create a one second animation. We can
change the second if required.
In shape tweening, you draw a vector shape at one specific frame in the
Timeline. This technique is used to smoothly change one shape into another.
For example, animation of clouds, water or fire are examples of shape tween.
Given below are the steps to morph the shape of an object i.e. from Circular to
rectangular shape this can be done using Shape Tween. To Create a Shape
Tween, perform the following steps.
Step 4: Now, In the Timeline panel, right-click on Frame 50 and click on the
Inset Keyframe option.
Step 7: Draw a circle using Oval tool from the Tools panel.
Step 9: The Timeline color will change to green and the Shape Tween is
created.
Step 10: Follow these steps to view the Shape Tween: Control Test
Movie In Animate option from the menu bar. The pop-up window will
display the Shape Tween.
LET’S CHECK
The places where drawings, objects and animations are kept are known as
Layers. Layers enable you to organize the artwork in your document. You can
draw and edit objects on one layer without affecting objects on another layer.
These are similar to transparent sheets, stacked one on top of the other. The
timeline panel contains all the layers ad you can add unlimited number of
layers. Also, layers can be re-numbered by dragging them up or down as
required.
Renaming a Layer:
Step 2: Click somewhere outside the name box and new name is saved.
Deleting a layer:
Step 1: Right-click the layer(s) and select Delete Layer from the pop-up manu.
Quick fact
“Toy Story” is the first feature-length film fully modeled and created
with the help of 3D technology.
USING MASKING:
The places where drawings, objects and animations are kept are known as
Layers. Masking is a way for you to control the content that your audience
sees. For instance, you can make a rectangular mask and allow your audience
to see through the rectangular area, so that you can get a keyhole or spotlight
effect. This enables the audience to focus on the important content.
Follow these steps to create a masking effect:
Step 3: In the Timeline panel, select Frame 100 and then right-click and
select the Insert-Frame option.
Step 5: Follow the sequence: File Import Import to Stage. This will
import pictures to the background.
Step 7: Now, from the left pane of the Timeline panel, select the Layer 2.
