1 Pricing and product Lifespan

For a daycare center, some fixed pricing strategy would not be effective. Rather the pricing

strategies will change over a period of time. The parents will be given different choices and plans

according to their requirements, and the number of hours they want to leave their kids at day

care. Normally it will range from AED1000-1500 per week, for all the services and amenities.

Besides increasing the revenue, “Happy Child Day Care” would also gradually increase its

capacity after the first year of operations. It will enable the business to maximize revenues while

offering additional and extensive services to the parents (Albanese, 2006). As already discussed

in the above section, it is a service, not a product, so there is no specific lifespan. The variation

and addition in services would make it possible for the daycare center to increase the life span of

its services, and increase revenues by operating successfully in the industry.

2.2 Benefits to Customers

The daycare center will be highly beneficial for the customers because it will enable them a

stress-free and worry-free environment to look after their kids. The parents doing full-time jobs

would need not to worry about the well-being, safety, and health of their kids. Also, the parents

whose children have special needs, do not need to worry about the care and looking after

their children, while they are at work. Because we would have experts who would look after

these kids and take proper care of their medication and food. Besides, those parents who have

less time and find it hard to pick up and drop off their kids from daycare can take benefit of our

transport service, which will pick up and drop children from their homes. So, these are the major

benefits that will be provided to the customers when they register themselves with “Happy Child

Day Care Center”. Also, children will learn new things and concepts due to a specifically
designed curriculum. And they will be prepared for preschool, which also reduces the stress on

parents.

2.3 Information about Research & Development

Research and development are the most important concept and prerequisite for starting a

business. So, for starting a daycare center, research would be conducted from the market through

customer surveys, and also by looking at the reports of existing day care centers in the region. It

will give a detailed idea of the pricing techniques, competitive positioning, customer

expectations, and business environment. Once the business is initiated, regular customer surveys

will be conducted to take customer feedback regarding the services of daycare and ask their

opinion on improving the service quality. The feedback taken from parents will also help

improve the operations of the daycare center, and it will enable the management to meet the

changing needs of customers. In addition, research and development are required before starting

the operations of day care center because it will help in meeting the legal and financial

obligations before starting this business. Proper licensing is required to start a business, a lease

agreement is required to acquire the building as well and a sound financial backup is required to

support the business while managing all the miscellaneous expenses.
