CAMPUS SECURITY POLICY

Campus Security Policy of GCET ensures the safety and security of all stakeholders on
campus. It encompasses a broad range of issues, including emergency response, safety of all
physical assets including both movable and non-movable, crime prevention, if any, privacy of
individuals, and their rights and responsibilities. The policy aims to create a safe and conducive
learning environment, adhering to relevant laws and regulations.

Institution ensures the following by providing a safe and secure environment:

1. Assets (Movable and Non-movable).


2. Personal Security of faculty, staff and students.
3. Screening of Outsiders / Visitors.
4. Animal free zone.
5. Clean and hygiene campus, free of bushes.
6. Campus Protection with walls on all sides.
7. Nonsmoking, No drugs and Nonalcoholic zone.
8. Women protection by employing significant number of women security guards.
9. CCTV Surveillance and access control measures, providing physical security.
10. Adequate Lighting across the campus.
11. Vehicle free campus.
12. Separate parking lots for two and four wheelers with commuting controlled by security.

13. Fire and natural disaster safety measures:


 Fire hose reels and fire extinguishers across various points in each floor.
 Two separate staircases in each block.
 Police on call within 10minutes duration, in the case of any emergency.
 Mock drills conducted regularly demonstrating personal safety during fire and other
natural calamities, if any.
 24 x 7 security with security guards and Ambulance facility.
14. Electrical Safety Measures:
 No leakage current with proper earthing of Electrical cables.
15. Personal privacy of all stakeholders.
16. Display of security measures at the gate and encourage all stakeholders follow the same.
17. Encourage all stakeholders to always carry their personal Identity Card.
18. Encourage all stakeholders to report anything that they feel is suspicious.
19. Health and safety compliance as per Government regulations.

A Campus security team is constituted with Principal as Chairperson and Registrar as Convener.
Other members of the team comprise two from IQAC and one from each department / Section /
Unit. The Committee meets once a Month and reviews the security measures in place and
suggests additional measures, if any.
