OBSERVATIONs:

i. The structural designs for the categories of the reinforced electric

concrete poles; 8.54m, 10.36m were not available during the
inspection exercise for sighting and verification.
ii. The statutory tests such as; cube test for the concrete compressive
strength, slump test for the workability of the concrete, deflection test
to determine the factor of safety and Schmidt’s Hammer test were not
yet carried out on the types of reinforced electric concrete poles, as
well as on the materials used.
iii. The manufactured electric concrete Poles were seen without planting
depth mark engraved on them.
iv. The date of production was not written on the electric concrete poles.
v. There was no batch number on all the electric concrete poles.

RECOMMENDATIONs:

i. It is recommended that the structural drawings should be made

available, and submitted at NEMSA Abeokuta office sooner than later.
ii. The statutory tests are recommended to be carried out with NEMSA
witnessing and report should be submitted to this office for further
verification and documentation as specified by standards.

the pole productions for easy identifications and traceability.

v. Curing pond, Casting bay, and testing rig are very essential, and
should be provided going forward in the concrete pole production and
processes.

CONCLUSION:

i. The observations/recommendations highlighted above should be

corrected/implemented accordingly.
ii. Security fencing with good access control, should be built round the
production facilities.
iii. The structural designs and all the relevant test conducted on the
electric concrete poles are prerequisite for certifications, should all be
forwarded to this office, for necessary actions. The inspection exercise
as carried in your factory, is also aimed at adding values to the electric
concrete production and processes, in which quality, safe and reliable
products are produced.

Take note of all the above recommendations as highlighted, for the necessary
correction/implementation as they are prerequisite for certifications, at such;
your company (ABNAG Global Enterprise) shall be under close watch of
NEMSA Abeokuta Inspectorate Office, to ensure production of quality pole
