Applicants wal be requied fo upload copies of professional and academic cerfiicates fogether with any other relevant document as may be appicable. i) The Selection Ponel is required to exercise the highest degree of transparency and ‘accountabilty, as sipulated in the Public Officer Ethics Act, and TSC Code of Conduct ‘and Ethics (CoCE, 2015) ll) The TSC Regional Directors ore required to induct TSC County Directors within their areas of jurisciction, who in tum are expected to induct members of the Sub - County Selection Pane’ involvediin the recrultment process on the relevant Sections of the Act Cond the Code of Regulations for Teachers (CORT, 2015) before the commencement of the selection exercise, Page 10f23 {ATSCISPRRGINOL ii) The TSC County Director together with the TSC Sub-County Direc‘ors MUST ensure that the recruitment process is done in sict adherence fo the laid down protocols by the Misty of Health on containment of COVID- 19 pandemic. MM) TSC Sub-County Director MUST ensure that venues for interviews are accessible to pplicants with sabilty. ¥)_Alapplicants MUST be registered teachers as per Section 2311) ofthe Teachers Service ‘Commission Act, 2012. Applicants who are not duly registered shall not be corsidered forrecruitment. vi) TSC Sub-Counly Diectors MUST confem entine registration status of the applicants ct shotlsting stage fo avoid engaging urvegstered/deregistered ‘eachers or ineligible applicants vi) Applicants whose nomes differ in the academic ond professional certificates and/or identification cards MUST present an Affidavit, swom under the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap 15 of the Laws of Kenya fo explain the vatience in names. Via) Applicants who reat either KCFE or KCSE examinations (or their equivalents) MUST present certified copies ofthe cetficate(s) of the national excmination\s) in question for all the attempts, Copies of the cerificales must be ceriiied by the Sub-Counly Directors ix) Upon generation of Applicants’ List from the system, the TSC Counly Director shall share the lists with TSC Sub-County Director who shall convene the Sub-County Selection Panella). The TSC Sub-County Selection Panel(s) shall verfy applicants’ professional, ‘ecademic and any other relevant documents before shortisting ¢ maximum of five (8) cepplicants per advertised post fi) The TSC Sub-County Ditector shall invite shortlisted applicants for the verfication of ‘documents through a Shor! Messaging Service [SMS]. The message shal include interview date, venue and time of the intewiew. The vertication of documents shall be conducted {at least seven (7) days trom the date of invitation. The lst of shertisted applicants by subject combination shall immediately be submitted fo the TSC County Director who shall ‘vey the Its, comple and submit the Iss the TSC Regional County Director who shall in tum verify the lists, comple and submit the lsts to the Hs for publshing on the TSC website. Following the veification exercise, the TSC Sub-County Diector shal compile a Mefi ist ‘of all of applicants whose documents have been verlied, The Meri Liss shal be used to rect teacher interns and any subsequent recruitment process wii the financial year. Xx) The TSC County Director shall compile Subject- Specific Mets for county, This data bank shall be used fo replace teacher intems in the county within he financial yeor xx) The TSC County Dkector shall formate the subject specific mett list fo the Regional Director who wil compile the Regional Subject Specific Merl lists. The Regional! Director shal forward the Regional Subject Speciic Meri Liss to the Director Staffing at the Headquarters. This data bank of inferiewed candidates shal be used to replace those exiting service within the Financial Year or as It may 2e ected by the Commission. 22i) Where candidates are exhausted from the subject spectic county data bank, replacement shall be done using the regional dala bank. Where candidates are ‘exhausted within @ ragion, vacancies shall be fled using the Subject Specific National data bank or asit may be ditected by the Commision 2.0. Page 60f23 ‘TSCSPPRGIOOL 5.0 QUALIFICATIONS 5.1, Graduate Teachers Applicants must have o minimum mean grade of C+ {plus} ot KCSE and C+ [plus in ‘each of the wo teaching subjects or two [2} Principles and one [1] Subsiciary poss at A’ Level. In adaition, they must have either a] A Bachelor of Education Degree with to (2} eaching subjects or, 0] A Bachelor of Science or Ars Degree pilus @ Post Graduate Diploma in Education [PGDE| with wo teaching subjects or |e} Bachelor of Science with Education/Bachelor of Aris with Education with two teaching subjects or [d} Bachelor of Science in Agricutural Education and Extension with two teaching subjects N.B: Applicants withthe following qualifications are also eligible; |) Diploma in Education Holders with a Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) ane C+ (Pus) in the two teaching subjects at KCSE ond have undertaken a Bachelors of Education Degree. 1) Those who obtained Mean Grade C {Plain} ot KCSE and C [Piin) inthe subjects of study Gt A-Level and obtcined at least 1 Principle and 2 Subsidiaries for Sciences, 2 Principles Cand 1 Subsidiary for Arts prior to undertaking @ Bachelor of Education Degree. 52. Diploma Teachers Applicants must have © minimum Mean Grade of C+ (Pls) at KCSE or is equivalent ‘ith at least C+ [Plus in the two teaching subjects N.B: Heating and visually impaired teachers who enrolled for taining with Mean Grade of C (Prain) and ¢ (Plain) in he two teaching subjects are eligible. 53. TechnicalTeachers ‘Applicants must have © minimum Mean Grade of C+ (Plus) at KCSE or is equivalent with at least C+ (Pius) in the two teaching subjects or one {I} Pinciple and two (2) Subsicovies at ‘A-Level in subjects stucfed. In adation, they must nave either: |} Bachelor of Education Technology (BeD TECH): of, jl) Bachelor of Science (8Sc] in any relevant technical Subject (3) /Couse: or 15) Higher iplomaiin a technical course: or Page 7023 a 3) 3) 4 1 8) 8) TSCISPPRGOOL Diploma in a technical couse. Futther, appicants under category [il above MUST possess @ Diploma in Technical Teacher Education from Kenya Technical Trainers Colege (KTIC}, previously known os Kenyc Technical Teachers College. ‘Applicants whose training isin subjects that are curently not in the Secondary Schoot CCuriculum do not quaify, inespective of their having undertaten a Post Graduate Diploma in Education [PGDE} and/or enhancement. Tis category includes but is not limited to Bachelor of Science /Bachelor of Arts in: = NoturalResources —-Horficuture - Fsheros Meteorotogy Form Machinery = Anthropology - Forestry - Sociology ~ Biotechnology = Animal Husbandry - Journalism = Theobay / Divinity ‘Applicants with Economics/Commerce/Accounting can apply fr Business Studies Diploma Teachers with Englsh/other subjects qualify for employment os teachers of Englih/Literature on conaition that they have adequate unis in both Longuage and Lterature. ‘Al applicants must have studied the two teaching subjects at KCSE except for ‘Agilculture, Business Studies, Home Science, and Computer Studies. For those who did not study Business Studies and Computer Studies, one should have attained a minimum (of C+ [Plus n Matnematics at KCSE. For those who did not study Agriculture and Home Science, one should have attained o minimum of C+ in Biology at KCSE, Graduate Teachers should have stugied a minimum of eight (8) course units in each teaching subject. In addition, the teachers must have studied Special Methods in their two teaching subjects of choice together with o minimum of three [3] months teaching practice, Enhancement cericate|s) ond transcripts shall enly apply where an applicant had not ‘covered the minimum number of units Gung the degree/ diploma programme.
