I. DANH TỪ (NOUNS)
1. Vị trí
Danh từ thường đứng sau:
- Mạo từ (article): a, an, the. Eg: a pen, an apple, the girl, etc.
- Đại từ chỉ định (demonstrative pronoun): this, that, these, those. Eg: this
book, that boy, these flowers, those cars, etc.
- Từ chỉ số lượng (qualifier): some, any, a lot of, lots of, many, much, a
little, a few, a variety of, etc. Eg: a lot of foods, many pigs, much money,
etc.
- Tính từ sở hữu (possessive adjective): my, your, our, their, his, her, its, etc.
Eg: my pig, her car, his girlfriend, Hien’s dog, etc.
- Tính từ (adjective). Eg: a beautiful girl, a big world, etc.
- Giới từ (preparation): on, at, in, of, with, etc. Eg: The book of Mary, for
those reasons, etc.
2. Chức năng
- Làm chủ ngữ. Eg: Students are learning Math.
- Làm tân ngữ (tân ngữ trực tiếp, tân ngữ gián tiếp, tân ngữ). Eg: He gives
me a flower. He gives a flower to me.
- Làm bổ ngữ cho danh từ. Eg: a school girl, customer services, etc.
