SERVICES
V. RATIONALE/LEGAL BASIS:
Oral health is one of the most important aspects in attaining overall health,
well-being and quality of life. A healthy mouth enables people to eat, speak and
socialize without pain, discomfort or embarrassment. Also, pain from untreated
dental concerns can lead to eating, sleeping, speaking, and learning problems in
children and adolescents, which affect child’s social interactions, school achievement,
general health, and quality of life. Rampant dental caries in children adversely affect
the overall nutrition necessary for the growth of the body specifically body weight
and height. That begins with the first bite and chewing the food efficiently.
The barangay recognizes the importance of ensuring the oral health of the
community. Thus, as a part of the celebration of the 7 TH Barangay Lubas Fiesta, the
Barangay Council together with the Municipal Health Services Office (MHSO) and the
Barangay Community Health Team (CHT) scheduled a Free Dental Services on April
24, 2023 to cater not only the children, but all interested Barangay Lubas residents.
