RCA of Camera Module (Issue)

The document discusses the Raspberry Pi Camera Module 2, highlighting its specifications and potential issues such as the 'NO camera detected' error, which may arise from sensor damage or connection failures. It outlines troubleshooting steps, including checking connections and configurations, as well as possible causes of failure like improper handling and voltage fluctuations. The document also provides detailed specifications of the camera module, including its sensor type, resolution, and physical dimensions.

RCA of camera module

detection Issue
Raspberry pi camera module 2
The v2 Camera Module has a Sony IMX219 8-megapixel sensor (compared to the 5-megapixel OmniVision
OV5647 sensor of the original camera).The camera works with all models of Raspberry Pi 1, 2, 3 and 4. It
can be accessed through the MMAL and V4L APIs, and there are numerous third-party libraries built for it,
including the Picamera Python library.

Module Failure Analysis
The camera modules’ imx219 sensor damage probably produce the “NO camera detected “ issue.
The issue might be from the probe or hardware connection failure, short circuit, high voltage, or improper handling of the sensitive
camera module.

Fixation is unlikely with the direct replacement of sensor as the module is sensitive and it may damage the module. So changing the
who;e cam module is better and efficient.

Troubleshooting steps:

Check the connection of ribbon cable.

Ensure the camera interface is enable

Test with another module

Check for physical damage

configuration
Open config.txt
sudo nano /boot/firmware/config.txt

Add:
dtoverlay=imx219

For dual display:

dtoverlay=imx219,cam0

dtoverlay=imx219,cam1

Comment(#) :
camera_auto_detection=1

Press: ctrl+X and Y and enter to save

Reboot using:

sudo reboot
Possible failures of cameras
1) Mounting and screwing might have damaged the module due to imporper
pressure on sensitive components and handling.
2) IC damage due to voltage fluctuation.
3) Capacitance and resistance burnt over the connection and power issue .
4) Significant features of the module over the loose connection and hardware
failure without the stable connection with the time lapse
5) Over heating or temperature issue .
