NDEC Wikimedia Bootcamp 2024 is the 2024
edition of the annual Wikimedia Bootcamp of Notre
Dame English Club.

This two weeks long bootcamp serves as the outreach

and recruitment campaign of NDEC Wikipedia
Editorial and Research Team - the specialized
Wikimedia team of Notre Dame English Club.
Participants get familiar with Wikipedia, it’s sister
projects and the vibrant global community behind the
Wikimedia movement.

This bootcamp includes two major parts - series

workshops and hands-on activities. We have an Edit
Challenge as the hands-on activity this year.

This handbook is intended to be a complete guideline

for the participants of this event.

all the participants will be notified via email if any such

Eligibility

You must be a student of HSC 2025 batch of
Notre Dame College, Dhaka, Bangladesh
to join this bootcamp.

If you don’t fulfill this criteria, and want to join

the bootcamp, you can reach out to the
Executive Committee members of NDEC WERT to
let us know about your interest. Send an email to

Registration

There is a registration fee of 50 Bangladeshi
Taka.

NDEC will set up payment booths at the Notre

Dame College campus for registration purposes.
Registration will commence on April 15, 2024,
and conclude on April 22, 2024.

Follow the process depicted in the following

pages to ensure your registration for the
bootcamp.

Step - 1 : Payment
Visit the payment booth of NDEC Wikimedia
Bootcamp 2024 at the college campus. The
booth will be setup in front of Fr. Ganguli
Building and Fr. Timm Building, and may change
place according to the needs.

Provide necessary information at the payment

booth. Double check your entry to make sure
that every information is correct.

Pay the registration fee. The payment booth

representative will give you a payment
confirmation slip. Make sure that the
representative signs the slip and tick the “Paid”
checkbox. Preserve this slip carefully for the
program.

also contain the signature the payment booth
representative and the “Paid” checkbox should
be ticked.

Step - 2 : Online Registration
Once the payment is done, you can start the
online registration process.

For online registration, kindly visit the following

link and ensure to fill out the form accurately.

Please ensure to enter your email address

correctly in the form. You will receive all updates
and notifications regarding this bootcamp via
email.

Please check your email regularly during the

bootcamp, you’ll receive all updates in your
email.

Step - 2 : Online Registration
After you submit the registration form online, our
team will take a few hours to verify your
payment and confirm your registration.

You’ll receive an email with the subject “You

have been added to NDEC Wikimedia
Bootcamp”. The body of the email should contain
the following text:

“Welcome to NDEC Wikimedia Bootcamp. If you are

receiving this message, your registration has been
successfully completed for the 2024 edition of the
Bootcamp.

If you have any question about the bootcamp, send it

to "ndec_bootcamp@googlegroups.com" or keep this
email address in cc.”

Step - 2 : Online Registration
If you receive the email, then Congratulations!

Your registration has been completed

successfully.

If you don’t receive the email within two days

after submitting the online registration form,
contact us using the phone numbers listed on
your payment confirmation slip.

Series Workshops

The First Workshop

The first workshop is scheduled for April 24,

2024, starting at 12:05 pm Bangladesh
Standard Time and lasting approximately two
and a half hours.

The workshop will be held in person at Notre

Dame College, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The exact
room number will be shared with participants via
email prior to the workshop.

The First Workshop
There is a contingency time for the first
workshop. It is at 8:00 pm on April 24, 2024
Bangladesh Standard Time, online.

Participants with lab schedules overlapping the

in person workshop timing can leave before their
lab. The first workshop will be repeated online
during the contingency time for these
participants; link will be shared via email. Those
who attended the first workshop in person need
not join the repeat session, but if they want to go
through the content again, they are most
welcome!

The Second Workshop
The second workshop is scheduled for April 27,
2024, at 7:30 pm Bangladesh Standard Time,
and will last for two and a half hours.

In case the second workshop cannot be

conducted at the scheduled time, we have a
contingency plan for April 28, 2024, at 7:30 pm
Bangladesh Standard Time. Participants will be
notified via email beforehand if there are any
changes.

The Third Workshop
The third workshop is scheduled for April 30,
2024, at 7:30 pm Bangladesh Standard Time,
and will last for two hours.

In case the third workshop cannot be conducted

The Edit Challenge

The Edit Challenge is set to start on May 1,
2024, and conclude on May 7, 2024. Any
alterations to this timeline will be communicated
to participants via email.

Participants have to make at least 150 edits to

win the edit challenge. Every participant
completing the edit challenge will receive a
printed certificate.
