Introduction
India is a nation where a significant portion of the population relies
on agriculture. Therefore, the role of agriculture in India is more
crucial than in other industries.
As agricultural students, we need to create modern technologies to
enhance efficiency in farming. The RAWE Program plays a vital role in
reaching this objective. The Rural Agricultural Work Experience
Programme (RAWE) takes place during the seventh semester. In this
initiative, students are grouped and tasked with engaging in various
activities under the guidance of our esteemed professors, along with
support from the coordinators and the Involvement of local villagers.
In this context, the participatory rural appraisal (PRA) technique was
employed to gain practical experience. We were tasked with
conducting exercises in a designated village, collaborating with the
local residents, and submitting our findings through various maps.
Throughout the PRA activities, we encountered real village scenarios,
which provided us with a fundamental understanding of multiple on-
farm operations. Each student honed their communication skills
through regular presentations held as part of this program. The
various tasks involved in this project enhanced the students’
knowledge and reinforced all the subjects we had studied over the
past three years.
We are now at ease when engaging with the villagers. In my opinion,
the greatest success of this RAWE Programme is that it has sparked a
desire in the students to assist the villagers, as we have observed
firsthand the genuine issues and challenges confronted by the
impoverished farmers.

Orientation Phase
(From 05th Aug to 23rd Aug, 2024)

Thus, on August 5, 2023, our seventh semester officially began. I

had a number of concerns about the RAWE Program up until that
point, dating back to the first year.
Prior to being directly exposed to the village and agriculture-related
industries, a 19-day orientation program was held at the college
starting on August 5, 2024. This program’s motto was to educate
students about the tasks that need to be completed throughout the
semester.

first select good healthy and diseased free branch which having
growth and stem have thickness like pencil. Remove the peel ring of
bark about 5- 6cm circularly and scrap inner layer slightly cover the
cut with moisture holding soil and cover the soil by black polythene
paper & tie the polythene on either side by a thread this will help to
hold the soil. After 2-3 weeks we can observe rooting in our air
layered branch.
