CHAPTER TWO

2.0 LITERATURE REVIEW

We have ppr, pvc and bmc pipes whereby the ppr melts when kept on high heat

The socket is needed in order for the extension of pipe.

Gatevalve controls the flow of water in the pipes to avoid the unnecessary flow and to
enable water flow swiftly at a slow pace.

We also have the bent mostly used in showers.

Tee is used for branching i.e to avoid some issues.

We have a reducing bush used in between the pipes to reduce the diameter of the pipe. It
also has both the internal and external threading therefore reducing.

Socket is also needed. It also reduces the diameter of the pipe but has the internal
threading.

Adapter used to join metallic and plastic pipes (pvc) union used in connecting and
disconnecting of water.
In the bathroom we have flow trap used for trapping waste.

Also shower rose is needed so as to spray water in the bathroom.

The connecting tubeacts as inlet water services, then the ball valve controls the overflow of
the water in the storage tank (cistern).

Pvc plug used to block flow of water in the bathroom and also galley trap traps waste water
from the kitchen sink or wash basin.

About the toilet, we we have inspecting pvc bent used for inspection. Plain bent used in
corners while inspecting pvc tee used to inspect used materialswhen it is full. We have bottle
trap used to trap waste water in the basin sink and kitchen sin. The we have vent core used
for ventilation.

For the storage tank, we should have a back nut used to join the pvc or plastic tank.

We have aplunger blockage used to remove some particles e.g paper or materials when
stuck in the toilet.

2.1 HISTORY OF MATERIALS

The materials should be hard to avoid breakages. Materials used are pvc, ppr and Bmc pipes.

The materials used are 1, ¾, ½ pipe.

The pipes are threaded before they are used.

The materials are bought according to sizes, hardness and its texture.

The materials are available in any plumbing workshop.

The materials quoted should not be less and not in excess, they should be exact value
needed to finish the available work.

2.2 HISTORY OF SANITARY APPLIANCE

Here as per me, i will basically base on the installation of sanitary appliance in toilets,
kitchen sinks, bathroom i.e how to install showers.

In the kitchen, we need to have bottle trap to ensure that it traps water from going back.

The sanitary appliance that i have to install is majorly based in an industry.

Sanitary appliance is needed in any industry especially in toilets, bathrooms and kitchen
sink.

In toilets is used to discharge waste to the manhole.

CHAPTER THREE

3.0 METHODOLOGY
Installation of arabian showers in the modern toilets.

The modern toilets is intalled first then the arabian shower is put on it later.

Installation of the toilet is easier as possible.

You first levelized and mark the position of the toilet

Then manholes should be outside the toilet.

Installation of the shower in the bathroom

1. Make a hole going upwards in order to keep the pipe inside and put the shower
above the pipe.

3.1 PARTS AND COMPONENTS OF SANITARY APPLIANCE

Elbow=used in corners

Union=used to join pipes

Taps=enable the presing of water

Bottle trap=used in the kitchen sink

Flow trap=used in bathrooms and toilets

Tee=used for diversion of water
