1. Mention, very briefly, the causes for the Battle of the Trench.
The Battle of the Trench happened because many tribes joined together to attack
Medina. They wanted to defeat the Muslims. The Muslims had to find a way to
protect their city.
2. How strong was the confederate army, and how strong was the Muslim
army?
The enemy army was very big, with about 10,000 soldiers. The Muslim army was
smaller, with around 3,000 soldiers. This made the battle very challenging for the
Muslims.
The trench did not need to be continuous. Some parts of Medina had strong
buildings. These buildings helped protect the city like a trench.
4. How did the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) help in the digging of the trench?
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) worked hard with his friends to dig the trench. He
carried stones and encouraged everyone. He showed that everyone should help,
no matter how tough the work is.
The women and children were kept safe inside the city. They stayed in secure
places while the men worked. This kept them away from the danger of the battle.
The trench was dug to protect Medina from the enemy. It made it hard for the
enemy to enter the city. This helped keep the Muslims safe.
