The enemy army was very big, with about 10,000 soldiers. The Muslim army was
smaller, with around 3,000 soldiers. This made the battle very challenging for the
Muslims.

buildings. These buildings helped protect the city like a trench.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) worked hard with his friends to dig the trench. He
carried stones and encouraged everyone. He showed that everyone should help,
no matter how tough the work is.
