Busting the Stereotype of a Military Brat People all across the country have different stereotypes of
military brats. It is dependent on whether the area has a military presence and if it does, it depends
on the attitude towards the military. Obviously, in areas that have an unwanted military presence,
local citizens will think of military brats as presumptuous and disobedient. In areas with a positive
military presence, a more positive image of brats is portrayed. The life of a military child (brat) is a
wonderful, enriched, hard, and learning experience. Brats ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Since children go through so many social, emotion, and educational needs the Military Child in
Transition and Deployment website was formed to offer advice and resources for changing
schools to military children and their parents to make their moves easier. For the youths, the site
teaches youths to the importance of having keepsakes while their parents are deployed. For the
teens, the site can help provide advice on colleges that would normally be provided by a parent
(Desjarlais, 2004). Military children learn to give up things starting at a young age, but it makes
them strong. The boys become the men of the house, while their fathers are away and the girls
become women. They learn to adapt to all the different situations that they may come across, but at
the same time, these kids have a sense of overwhelming pride (Reese, 2004, p. 2). Military brats are
often compared to a dandelion: Military children bloom everywhere the winds carry them. They are
hardy, resilient, and upright. Their roots are strong, cultivated deeply in the culture of the military,
planted swiftly and surely. And, ready to fly in the breezes that take them to new adventures, new
lands, and new friends (Lockhart, 2005). Being part of the military taught brats to deal with the
changes in their life with humor and to be brave. They learned to not gripe about their parent s six
month deployment and taught them to rely on themselves. It also taught them that family was

LITERATURE REVIEW 3.1. Recruitment and Selection (Toyota) [ (recruitment.toyotauk.com,
2011) ] Hiring the best people is paramount to the success of any organization more so is the
ability to retain a high quality workforce; if there is a vacant position in an organization there
should not be panic because it provides the organization with the opportunity to examine the
position, set the description and determine the qualifications. [ (hr.uoregon.edu, 2010) ]
Recruitment is the preceding step in the selection method in an organization. It is seen as an
activity directed to earn suitable workforces whose qualifications and skills match roles of the
pertinent posts in the Organization. While it is defined also as the process of identifying that the
organization needs to employ someone up to the point at which application forms for the past have
arrived at the organization [ (businesscasestudies.co.uk, 2010) ]. The success of a business is
subjected to the skills and competencies of its workforce [ (Gilmore amp; Williams, 2009) ], it does
not stop once it commences, and it gives the organization the opportunity to pick from a pool of
qualified candidates. Among the
Architecture in the Store Structure Essay
Architecture in the Store Structure

As I walk through University Towne Centre Mall, I notice tucked away in a somewhat secluded
part of the mall the store Structure. Structure is a men s clothing and accessory store. Hanging in
the large glass windows of the store are colored posters of handsome men dressed from head to toe
in the latest Structure fashions. Structure has adopted the Greek Ionic Column as part of it s building
plan. Painted on the front windows of the store are small silhouette images of an idealized Greek
temple. The Greek architectural elements that have been used to decorate and symbolize Structure,
are in perfect condition. In fact, one could even go far enough to imagine that they were standing in

This is an image that can be portrayed onto the merchandise Structure sells as well. Even the name
of the store is key when it comes to wanting quality. The word structure has a permeance about it,
therefore, when I think of the word structure I think of something that has been engineered by a
genius ages ahead of their time, another selling point to tell to your customer. Sir, oh sir, those
slacks look stunning on you, did you know that an engineer at Harvard designed them for longevity
and comfort? Of course this probably is not true, but with a name like Structure, anything is possible.

Inside the store you are surrounded by vignettes containing small Greek columns, which are again
referring to the timeless quality that surrounds you. The clothes that they sell are displayed on
hangers on a rod that is held by a pair of flanked stylized columns. When you reach for a shirt to try
on, you are choosing something that is imaged as pure quality and style.

Temples were built by the Greeks and were made to serve a variety of purposes. Whatever the
occasion was, Greek temples were of easy access, with all four sides being open. The store
Structure is not built so all walls are open to the public, that type of construction would not last long
this day in age. You enter Structure from one door and exit through the same one. Once inside the

For about twenty eight years now the Asian elephant has been struggling for existence. They have
been classified as endangered species by The International Union for Conservation of Nature
(IUCN). Twenty eight years is quite a large amount of time for an animal to be classified as
endangered so The Zoological Society of London decided to look into this issue. Asian elephants
have been transferred to captivity for quite some time in the North American region. The Elephas
maximus have been captured from these countries in southern Asia and brought over to North
America and have experienced many complications that can hinder the genetic diversity of the
evolution of the species. Captive populations of the Elephas maximus species may be essential for
genetic preservation and aid in decreasing the deterioration of the authentic population (Brenneman
et al. 2011).
Unfortunately, keeping these elephants captive has caused issues. The females are at least 35 years
of age which isn t very essential for reproduction so as a result the mortality rate amongst the calves

The Effects Of Peer Pressure On Youth
Introduction
Motivation is the influence or force that causes someone to do something ( Merriam Webster
Dictionary n.d.). To determine why children lack motivation to complete classes, the cause to their
de motivation needs targeted. When children are motivated, they will succeed with a sense of
accomplishment. Encouragement is the key to motivation (Nelsen, Lott par 2 2015). If a child is
encouraged and praised for their achievement s, they feel a sense of self worth, which develops a
high self esteem. Individuals with a high self esteem accomplish goals. Peer pressure has been
identified as a big impact on teenagers, and contrary to popular belief, Secure Teen (2013) has
found that peer pressure may encourage positive influences on our youth. To promote motivation
and a high self esteem students could participate in groups to thrive in the classroom. These
groups would be called N I A F (No one is a failure), not a typical study group or therapy, a
community of academic socializing to motivate students toward success. Peers would encourage
each other in N I A F, and work as teams to achieve. Teens need to know their capabilities and
weaknesses along with being praised for their proficiencies to be motivated. Knowing your
weaknesses is empowering and shows that you are human (Scivicque 2011). The idea that students
helping one another could ultimately be the key to the underachiever or unmotivated is an
The Pros And Cons Of Technology In The Workplace
According to Frontier Business, Around one third of companies (33%) have specific technology
budgets set aside for their marketing departments (Frontier business). There are many ways
technology is used in the workplace the main being in their production lines. Although technology
causes some people to lose jobs, technologybenefits the workplace because it is more efficient,
creates new jobs, cheaper to use technology.
While there is plenty of evidence to show that technology should be used in the workplace, there
is, of course, the opposing side. Some argue that technology should not be used in the workplace.
Since technology has been added to the workplace a significant number of people have lost their
jobs. According to, David Crane, in his article, writes, Job losses will continue in manufacturing
as more advanced technologies, such as totally computerized assembly lines, take over
production (Crane). If the workplace continues to add technology, then more people will lose
their job; however not everyone has lost their jobs, there has been less jobs removed than what
people think. David Crane, opposes, The main impact of new technologies will not be on the
number of total jobs but on the changes in occupations and skill requirements in the workplace
(Crane). If you lose your jobs that is most likely because you no longer have a skill they look for,
then you will have to acquire that new skill, or they can just hire those who already have that skill.
First reason why we should use technology in the workplace, technology benefits the workplace
because it is more efficient. In a newspaper article, Dayton Daily News, Bernard Condon, wrote,
Year after year, the software that runs computers and an array of other machines and devices
becomes more sophisticated and capable of doing more efficiently tasks that humans once did
(Condon). If technology continues to progress it will be able to do many different things that
increase production, then businesses will also improve the economy. Furthermore, in another
newspaper article, Toronto Star, David Crane, stated, New technology leads to higher productivity
which can preserve existing jobs and add new ones. Higher productivity also allows companies to

Essay Comparing Gattaca And Social Darwinism
Where could similarities possibly exist between a book set in the timeline of the 1950 s during a
fictional atomic war and a movie set in the future where humans can be genetically modified? The
answer is all throughout both the novel and the film. The book Lord of the Flies by William
Golding and the movie Gattacaby Andrew Niccol possess many similar themes, one of which
includes Social Darwinism and its survival of the fittest mentality. At a first look at the book and the
movie the two may seem entirely divergent from each other but through searching deeper into both s
thematic elements, they show clearer signs as to the similarities that each possesses. Of course as
mentioned before, they show a correlation between what is Social Darwinism. Social Darwinism is
by definition the idea that humans, like animals and plants, compete in a struggle for existence in
which natural selectionresults in survival of the fittest. This is expressed in Gattaca very evidently
as people are discriminated against because of their genetic code. In the movie, people are
genetically engineered to try to obtain... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two show immense similarities with Social Darwinism, especially between Ralph and
Vincent. Vincent, seen as inferior just because of his genetic makeup is clearly capable of being in
a high ranking job due to his intelligence but without Jerome, would never have obtained the job.
Ralph in resemblance is seen as inferior due to his lack of followers and because of his decision in
not accompanying the hunters, which showed Jack he is unfit for the island and a threat, outcasting
him. Despite that, the reality is Ralph is absolutely proficient enough in surviving on the island due
to his strong leadership, rational thinking, and tranquillity just as Vincent is qualified as well yet
both are seen by their societies as unfit because they are inferior to

Introduction: Thomas Andrew Drake, a man who was a former senior executive of U.S. NSA
(National Security Agency), a decorated United States Air Force And Navy veteran and a
whistleblower. In 2010, Thomas Andrew Drake was alleged with mishandling of documents, rarest
of the Espionage act in the history of United States. Defenders of Drake claim that he was instead
being prosecuted for challenging the trailblazer project. In 2001, exactly on the day of 9/11 he
was appointed as the Signals Intelligence Directorate in Fort Meade, Maryland when he joined the
NSA as a full time employee. He later progressed to higher levels in the organization to a level
where he held a top security clearance. During the investigation which was dwelled into the 9/11
by congress, he was testified NSA failure. In 2011, he was awarded Ridenhour Prize for
TruthTelling and was co recipient of Sam Adams Associates for Integrity in Intelligence (SAAII)
award. As we progress into this paper, we will discuss various stages of this crime such as what were
his actions in NSA, NSA inquiry and acknowledgement, Inevitable Whistleblowing, FBI raids,
Indictment, Court proceedings, Government arguments, final disposition, what happened since
2012. In this paper we will also discuss the Espionage act and Whistleblowing, what is a part of the
McCarran Internal Security Act and what was the Nation Defense information, classified information
which was mishandled by Thomas Andrew Drake.

History Of Central Banks Of America
Abel Shiferaw Econ 201 Prof Emma Cummings 05/01/2015 History of Central banks in America
Even though central banks can improve a nation s economy and are beneficial to governments,
the central banks of America had a very controversial history. Even before the establishment of
the Federal Reserve, banks were used by the public just as we use them today. Bank notes were in
use during this time and they were backed up by the guarantee that they can be traded for either
gold or silver on demand. The history of central banking in America dates back to 1781 when the
first bank of North America was chartered by the state of Pennsylvania with the help of Robert
Morris. It was the first ban k in America s history to receive deposits and issue its own banknotes.
Four years later, two more banks were created that also issued their own bank notes: the bank of
New York and the Massachusetts bank. (thismatter.com) Some were not very supportive of the
formation of a central baking system because of England s efforts to place the colonies under the
control of the bank of England while others were strongly in favor of it. As stated in the articles of
confederation, congress was given the power to print bills of credit and to establish a national bank
similar to the bank of England but objections rose of alarming foreign influence and fictitious credit
(Wikipedia.org) that hindered its ability to accomplish its intended role. On February 25 1791,
following the bank of North America, the

SIX DEBATES over MACROECONOMIC POLICY

ISSUES| YES| NO| 1. Whether or not monetary and fiscal policymakers should try to stabilize the
economy| Advocates of active monetary and fiscal policy view the economy as inherently unstable
and believe that policy can manage aggregate demand, and thereby, production and employment, to
offset the inherent instability. When aggregate demand is inadequate to ensure full employment,
policymakers should boost government spending, cut taxes, and expand money supply. However,
when aggregate demand is excessive, risking higher inflation, policymakers should cut government

Increased spending on investment adds to aggregate demand and helps to restore normal levels of
production and employment.Fiscal policy, on the other hand, can provide an additional tool to
combat recessions and is particularly useful when the tools of monetary policy lose their
effectiveness. When the government cuts taxes, it increases households disposable income, which
encourages them to increase spending on consumption. When the government buys goods and
services, it adds directly to aggregate demand. Moreover, these fiscal actions can have multiplier
effects: Higher aggregate demand leads to higher incomes, which in turn induces additional
consumer spending and further increases in aggregate demand.Traditional Keynesian analysis
indicates that increases in government purchases are a more potent tool than decreases in taxes.
When the government gives a dollar in tax cuts to a household, part of that dollar may be saved
rather than spent. The part of the dollar that is saved does not contribute to the aggregate demand
for goods and services. By contrast, when the government spends a dollar buying a good or service,
that dollar immediately and fully adds to aggregate demand.| Critics of spending hikes argue that tax
cuts can expand both aggregate demand and aggregate supply and that hasty increases in government
spending may lead to wasteful public projects.Tax cuts increase aggregate demand by increasing
household s disposable income, as

Reflection Of Political Science
Political science is a broad topic that covers the history, political and geographical aspect of the
world. The course started with a revision on the basics of the constitution, types of power and the
political scene that happens around us. My first year at the University, one of the compulsory
subject that is required for arts taking students is Political Science 1101. After several years of
taking social or political course, taking this course opened my knowledge towards politics and the
political scene in Canada. It also taught me about how different ways of information taking could
lead to one learning differently from others. For example this class gave us the opportunity to use
our laptops as a source of note taking, this helped me learn in which whenever a new vocabulary
comes up during the class discussions i could search it up. Through The Road to Patriation and Kim
Campbell Through the Looking Glass i would further emphasize my ideas on what i have learnt
throughout the course semester.
The concepts provided in the documentary The Road To Patriation was about the disagreement
between the federal and provincial government of Canada on what to do with their constitution and
how they would agree on a formula to bring back the Canadian Constitution from England. After the
failure of five prime ministers and several conferences Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau took up the
challenge of bringing back the constitution in early 1970 alongside with his Justice Minister
