INTRODUCTION

Dairy production is a key agricultural activity that significantly contributes to rural livelihoods. As an extension

officer, I provided guidance to farmers on best practices in dairy management and advocated for joining the

Siyo Multiproduce Cooperative to improve market access and collective growth.

OBSERVATION

Feeding Practices:

Most farmers had poor feeding practices, which led to low milk production.

Housing and Sanitation:

Inadequate drainage and poor hygiene resulted in disease outbreaks.

BREEDING:

Many farmers practiced inbreeding, which contributed to low productivity.

CHALLENGES
EXTENSION ACTIVITY REPORT

- Limited knowledge on dairy production

- Inadequate access to veterinary services

- Lack of proper feeding resources

RECOMMENDATIONS

- Feeding: Adopt fodder conservation methods and establish drought-resistant fodder crops.

- Housing: Improve drainage and encourage regular cleaning.

- Breeding: Educate farmers on the benefits of crossbreeding and artificial insemination.

CONCLUSION

Farmers demonstrated commendable efforts in dairy production with potential for higher yields. Follow-up

visits are recommended to monitor progress and offer continuous support.

REMARKS

The activity was successful, with active farmer participation. Farmers showed great interest in improving their

dairy production practices and expressed willingness to join the cooperative to benefit from the services and

opportunities offered by the Siyo Multiproduce Cooperative, thereby boosting production and sustainability.
