FOCUS: Students learn to follow instruction to make chocolate KLA connections: English- talking and listening, PDHPE- communicating, interacting, decision making. crackles. Teaching and Learning Actions Content Time Group Assessment Resources Fridge and Orientation Structure What? How? microwave Explain to students the process of making chocolate crackles. Clean tables and hands and collect equipment needed. Place Preparation 10 Clean tables mins ingredients on tables. EQUIPMENT: spoon, patty cake cases and large mixing bowl. INGREDIENTS: 4 cups rice bubbles, 1 W/C Following Observe Mixing spoon cups icing sugar, 250g copha chopped and 3 tbsp cocoa. Extra instruction to students ingredients optional: marshmallows, sprinkles, soft lollies. T.A make chocolate following Large mixing Access to microwave and fridge. Serves 24. crackles instruction bowl Modelled Demonstrate making chocolate crackles with students following Patty cake cases the steps. STEPS: 1) In a large mixing bowl mix rice bubbles, Demonstrate 10 W/C Steps mins icing sugar and cocoa. 2) Melt copha in a microwave. Allow to Rice bubbles cool slowly 3) Add copha to mixture in bowl and stir until all T.D combined. 4) Spoon mixture in patty cake cases. 5) Add extra Cocoa toppings if desired. 6) Put in fridge until firm. Copha Following 20 Guided W/C Remedial Extension instructions mins Students follow step by step instructions. T.A Icing sugar Provide help Students can Independent and extra help one Optional 10 Add own decoration to chocolate crackles before setting e.g. S.D Small instruction another topping mins marshmallows and sprinkle topping. T.M marshmallows Closure Clean up 10 Students wait until chocolate crackles are firm enough to be T.M Soft lollies mins eaten but in the meantime clean up. W/C
