Course Objectives
1. Students can learn and understand the control
system of electrical machines and its drives. DC and
AC machines will be introduced in this course along
with its related control components.
2. Students can design and simulate the control system
of electrical machines through simulation program.
3. Students can do experiments about basic control of
electrical machines. Hence, they will fully understand
how does the electrical machines work.
4. Students can understand the importance of the
control of electrical machines in the real application
of industrial fields.

CONCLUSIONS
CONCLUSIONS
1. There are two main categories of electrical machines, DC and
AC motors.
2. Permanent Magnet (PM) DC motor, Induction motor, and PMSM
are used in many
3. industrial fields. However, AC motor is used more because of its
efficiency.
4. PM DC motor is the most famous among the DC motor types,
because the machine design and its control is easier than the
others.
5. Induction motor is used in almost 70% industrial application
nowadays. However, PMSM will becoming a new trend because
of it offers better performance than the induction motor.
