CLASS OVERVIEW

This is a college-level, Advanced


Placement course which will challenge all
students math knowledge.
Homework is an essential and expected
component.
Mastery Checks (MC) are given daily.
Attendance is crucial.

10 or more unexcused absences will result in


NO credit for the course.

WHAT IS A FLIPPED CLASSROOM?

Students watch video lectures at home.


Collaborative work is done in class.

Students work on assigned problems, while


communicating mathematics with their peers on
a daily basis.

Our classroom is a blended classroom,


making the most of technology and the
traditional classroom to increase student
learning.
Class participation is assessed daily.

Homework is an essential and expected


component, and will be completed
through MathXL.

WHAT CAN PARENTS DO TO HELP?

Just about everything we do in class is


detailed on Google Classroom and/or our
weebly page.

Check on progress through their grades.

Make sure your son/daughter is watching


the video lectures at home and
completing the Video Quizzes.
Try to avoid scheduling appointments
during class time.

EXAM/COURSE STATISTICS

78 students took the BC exam at CHS


last year

66 students (85%) earned the highest


score of 5, with a 4.821 mean grade.

Overall, my students pass rate at CHS


since 2003 is 99.4% (838 out of 843
students)

WHAT COMES AFTER AP CALCULUS


BC?

Multi-variable Calculus is currently


being offered again this year.
This is an honors, college-level course.
Although college credit is not
guaranteed (dependent on your major
and the school), students could be
exempt from the equivalent college
course.
