Interior and Exterior Angles

A polygon is a closed, plane shape with three or more straight sides. The minimum number of sides a polygon can have is three, while there is no maximum. Key terms include vertex (the point where two sides meet), diagonal (a segment connecting two non-consecutive vertices), and interior and exterior angles. The sum of the interior angles of any triangle is 180 degrees, and the sum of interior angles of any quadrilateral is 360 degrees. For polygons with n sides, the sum of interior angles is (n-2)×180 degrees. The sum of exterior angles is always 360 degrees.
