The specifications for the requirement of
Centrifugal pumps, reverse hydraulic power
recovery turbines for the use in petroleum,
petrochemical and gas industry process

API pumps classification
Relevant API 610 specifications
• Pumps shall be constructed and designed for a
minimum service cycle of 20 years in which 3
years of uninterrupted service is required .
• Pump shall be able to operate up to maximum
continuous speed(full speed of the driver or
105% of rated speed)
• Seal chamber requirements are also
covered.Ex seal chamber pressure should be
at least 0.35bar(g)

• Seal chamber shall be rated for at least equal
to maximum allowable working pressure
• Rated flowrate range=80% to 110% of BEP
flow rate
• Cooling of pump bearing housing shall be
decided by vendor and client together.

• Pressure casing fasteners shall not be less than
12 mm

• Provision of orings wherever required and
jacksrews for maintenance purpose
