Composition Powerpoint Weebly

This document discusses various compositional techniques including repetition, sequences, retrograde, inversion, retrograde inversion, augmentation, diminution, and ornamentation. It provides examples and definitions for each technique. Repetition involves repeating melodic or rhythmic motifs. Sequences restate a motif at a higher or lower pitch while maintaining the same intervals and rhythms. Retrograde inverts the pitch and rhythmic order. Inversion maintains the same intervals but moves in the opposite direction. Retrograde inversion combines these techniques. Augmentation doubles note values while diminution halves them. Ornamentation decorates or embellishes the original motif.
