Steel structures are assemblies of structural steel shapes joined together by means of riveted, bolted, or welded connections according to specifications and standards. Steel structures use rolled and fabricated sections made of hot-rolled, cold-formed, or built-up steel shapes for beams, columns, and other structural elements. Connections between individual steel members require special joining methods unlike monolithic concrete structures.
