IMPORTANCE OF HISTORY
• "History is the story of change over time. It also
demonstrates that human nature has remained
fairly constant.
• "History demonstrates that circumstances and
technologies change, but humans still want the
same things that they wanted in previous
civilizations: wealth, security, happiness, power,
spiritual and social fulfillment, etc."
IMPORTANCE OF SOCIOLOGY
• The most significance of sociology is that it studied the
society social institutions scientifically.
• Society is the largest organization of the individuals. Society
has its own problems in every field. It is through the study of
sociology that the scientific study of society has been possible.
The study of society not only has a value in modern complex
society, it becomes indispensable.
• The study of society contributes to the formulation of social
policies which required certain amount of knowledge about
that society..
IMPORTANCE OF GEOGRAPHY
• Geography is the study of places, landscapes, environments, and people, and how
they have affected each other over time to become what it is today. It combines
natural sciences (physical geography) and social sciences (human geography) in a
way no other field of science does.
• To learn about other cultures, where they live, and how their location and climate
affects their lifestyle.
• To learn and understand how the world’s basic physical systems work and affect
our everyday life.
• To have a better appreciation of Earth as our home and have a better
understanding of its limitations. Knowing how much resources are available can
help us be more responsible in the way we manage and treat our home.
IMPORTANCE OF GEOLOGY
• Geology is the study of the Earth – how it
works and its 4.5 billion-year history.
Geologists study some of society’s most
important problems, such as energy, water,
and mineral resources; the environment;
climate change; and natural hazards like
landslides, volcanoes, earthquakes, and floods.
IMPORTANCE OF POLITICS
• It is very important to care about politics because you should
know what is going on around you. The political decisions
people make will affect many lives.
• Many people see politics as the government and the laws being
made, and that is true, but it is way more complicated than
that.
• Every law that is made will impact many. Sometimes the
decisions will affect people in a bad way.
• Every vote that you make will either break people or make
people.
IMPORTANCE OF LAW
• Law governs much of what everyone does, day in and day
out. It tell us what our rights and duties are.
• It allows us to assert rights that we have. It lets us know the
consequences of not doing what we are supposed to do.
• Without law, we do not have civilization; we have chaos. Law
is meant to protect people and property from harm.
• It is designed to either remove people from society who have
harmed people and property or to make them monetarily
responsible for the harm.
IMPORTANCE OF GOVERNMENT
•It provides the parameters for
everyday behavior for citizens,
protect them from outside
interference, and often provide for
their well-being and happiness.
IMPORTANCE OF ARCHAELOGY
• Archaeology is a magical gateway to the past. It is the discipline that
complements History best with its hard evidences and methodological
advantages
• The discipline of archaeology studies human cultures and past.
Through recovery and interpretation of architectures, artefacts, bio
facts, and landscapes, archaeology seeks to a) determine the chronology
of human development, b) unearth the cultural history of various human
settlements, c) and substantiate or fill the lacunae of history with
material evidence, and d) understand the processes that underlie the
changes taken place in human societies across cultures.
IMPORTANCE OF ANTHROPOLOGY
• Anthropology is frequently described as the art of ‘making
the familiar exotic and the exotic familiar.
• It has also been described as ‘the most humanistic of the
sciences and the most scientific of the humanities’ (Eric
Wolf).
• Anthropology can be defined as the comparative study of
humans, their societies and their cultural worlds.
• It simultaneously explores human diversity and what it is
that all human beings have in common.
IMPORTANCE OF ECONOMICS
• Economics is concerned with the optimal distribution of
resources in society. The subject involves
• Understanding what happens in markets and the
macroeconomy.
• Examining statistics about the state of the economy and
explaining their significance
• Understanding different policy options and evaluating their
likely outcomes.
IMPORTANCE OF LINGUISTICS
• Linguistics is the study of languages, and as such, is
of great importance to language teachers.
