This document provides the syllabus for the ME8511 Kinematics and Dynamics Lab course. The course objective is to supplement principles learned in kinematics and dynamics of machinery courses through experiments. The 12 listed experiments involve studying gear parameters, mechanism kinematics, determining mass moments of inertia, gyroscopic effects, governor behavior, cam profiles, vibration of spring-mass systems, critical speeds of shafts, balancing of rotating/reciprocating masses, transverse beam vibration, and forced cantilever beam vibration. Various equipment is listed to support experiments for a batch of 30 students, including dynamic balancing machines, rotor vibration setups, and kinematic/gear models. Virtual labs links are also provided.
