Role of Nurse in Suicide and Its Prevention: By-Himani Raj 1 Year MSC Nursing College of Nursing, Aiims Raipur

This document discusses the role of nurses in suicide prevention and assessing the effectiveness of a structured teaching program on nursing students' knowledge of suicide and prevention. It provides background on increasing global and Indian suicide rates. The study aims to assess nursing students' baseline knowledge, provide a teaching program, and re-assess knowledge gained. A pre-test-post-test design was used with 100 nursing student participants randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Results showed the teaching program significantly improved experimental group knowledge scores compared to controls. Certain demographic factors like family income, type, and source of initial suicide information also influenced baseline knowledge.
