Tell what text-type are the following selection.
1. Many people became careless of the environment. As a result of this
behavior, floods are everywhere during typhoons. Consequently,
people who live near hilly areas are threatened by soil erosion. The
earth experiences global warming which causes abnormality in
climate. Water and air are becoming polluted which affects the lives of
other creatures. As a result, everyone is alarmed of possible menaces
which people themselves are making.
2. Efren Peňaflorida is an extra ordinary man. Efren, as a teacher, is
also a CNN Hero of the Year awardee. His project, Kariton Klasrum.
Consists of pushcarts that are filled with books, writing materials,
tables, and chairs. The project aims to bring education to poor
children. Efren is a positive thinker. He hopes that dropouts and out-
of-school youth will be motivated to study and learn more things. He
does his volunteer work among people who are inspired by his
vision.
3. Once their was a pirate ship sailing in search of the
treasure. It searched and searched, but didn’t find any
treasure. One day, the captain spotted a distant island and
decided to explore it. The crew sailed to the island and
searched every corner. Suddenly, they spotted a chart full of
gold and silver! The crew celebrated.

3. Do they know each other?
Bathala often dreamt of creating mortals
but the empty earth stops him from doing
so. Ulilang Kaluluwa who was equally lonely
as Bathala, liked to visit places and the
earth was his favorite. One day the two
gods met. Ulilang Kaluluwa, seeing another
god rivalling him, was not pleased. He
challenged Bathala to a fight to decide who
would be the ruler of the universe. After
three days and three nights, Ulilang
Kaluluwa was slain by Bathala. Instead of
giving him a proper burial, Bathala burned
the snake’s remains

Wilbur was the most popular pig in the farm,
until the day Alfred the horse came. Alfred was
big, brown, and had silky hair. Not to mention
that he was loud and too friendly. All the animals
like Alfred . Wilbur’s owner fed Alfred better. He
rode Alfred most of the time, too. Wilbur was
jealous. Alfred tried to be friends with him but
Wilbur didn’t like him. Wilbur got sick and his
owner was too busy to care. It was Alfred took
care of Wilbur

Do you take your dog for a walk or does your dog take you for a
walk? Leash pulling is a common problem with puppies, especially
large breeds. Leash pulling can easily lead to your dog getting free
of his leash or into trouble. To leash-train your dog, you must stop
and stand still every time he pulls on the leash. When the dog
calms down, praise him, wait a minute, and then begin to walk
slowly. The minute he starts pulling again, stop, wait, praise, and
then move on. With your patience, your dog will soon learn not to
pull on his leash.
