Mathematics in The Modern World: Logical Fallacies

This document provides an overview of several types of logical fallacies that can occur in arguments and reasoning. It defines fallacies such as bad reason, quantification fallacies, propositional fallacies, syllogistic fallacies, ad hominem, and appeal to emotion. For each fallacy, it provides a brief explanation and examples to illustrate how the fallacy can invalidate an argument. The document serves as a reference for common logical fallacies and errors in reasoning.

Propositional Fallacies When logical fallacies occur in the syllogisms of
A propositional fallacy is one where an error in logic takes deductive reasoning. This occurs with a reference to

'statement'. In order for a compound proposition to have a something more specific.

Logic formulas: two premises: one syllogism and one conclusion.

Ad Hominem
The ad hominem attack is a logical fallacy associated
with trying to undermine the opponent's arguments by
personal attacks, through attacking their character or skill
level, etc. The ad hominem attack uses an accepted fact
about a person to undermine their credibility despite the
lack of causal connection between the two parts of the Anecdotal
argument. The anecdotal fallacy uses a personal experience or an
isolated example instead of a sound argument.
