OVERVIEW:
In 2016, the Department of Education issued DepED Order No. 10,
“Policy and Guidelines on the Comprehensive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools (WinS) Program.” This is to improve access to adequate water supply, functional toilets and effective hygiene promotion. This is in recognition of the importance of WASH in schools in achieving the learning outcomes for our children. The goal is to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment in school and enable children to be in best condition to participate and learn in school. What is DepEd WASH in Schools?

practices through hygiene and sanitation education and the provision of standards for safe water supply and appropriate sanitation facilities.
