•It is due to transmission of solar energy

absorption by an opaque building component.
INFILTRATION

•Heat loss or heat gain due to the


infiltration of outside air into a
conditioned space.
INTERNAL HEAT GAIN

•It is due to the release of energy


within a space (lighting, people,
equipment, etc)
HEAT GAIN FOR LIGHTING

• Fu = utilization factor or fraction of installed lamps in use


• Fb = ballast factor (1.2 for fluorescent lamps)
• CLF = cooling load factor
