HR TRENDS ON INFOSYS:

• Krish Shankar, executive vice-president & group head of

human resource (HR) development at Infosys, the
defining moment of the pandemic on the HR department
has been the importance that reskilling and learning have
managed to get.
E-LEARNING COURSES

• The pandemic has really brought the importance of reskilling to

the core.
• “In the past, certification courses or taking up an e-learning course
was just a way towards promotion, and was not taken too
seriously. That has been changing in the last 2-3 years, and the
pandemic has accelerated this trend.
• Today, 80 per cent of our people in our new digital businesses are
in-house talent,” said Shankar.
WORK FROM HOME

• The pandemic has also brought a few shift in the HR ecosystem.

First, the work from anywhere/home has pushed the envelope on
flexibility.
DIGITAL ECOSYSTEM

• The need for a digital ecosystem,a digital interface for the

organisation has become important as that defines how they
engage digitally and create a digital experience for employees.
LEADERSHIP

• This pandemic also made the leadership more accessible to

employees to connect. We have also been investing a lot in
working with managers and the leadership to understand what is
needed from them that will enhance their role and also create a
culture.
ADAPTIVE TO THE FUTURE
Covid-19 pandemic, Infosys spontaneously worked towards a
renewed Employee Engagement Framework the ‘5C Engagement’
model. This framework was designed keeping in mind our key
internal stakeholders – employees, managers and leaders, and the
core tenets of this framework are Connect, Collaborate, Celebrate,
Care and Culture.
• The main objective of creating a 5C Engagement framework was
to elevate employee experience and wellbeing while keeping them
engaged, motivated and productive in the new normal.
Connect: creating shared vision and purpose for the teams through
virtual employee connect platforms like ‘iengage’, ‘meridian’, we are
focused on enabling managers to have high quality connect with team
members, seamless integration of new joiners, having career
conversations with key talent, and a one-touch engagement platform
for managers and leaders to drive engagement effectively in a remote
hybrid environment.
• Collaborate: Driven by the digital growth, our focus has been on
collaboration within project teams leveraging multiple power team
modules focused on team effectiveness, culture, building trust etc.
these are short team huddles focused on one area to build greater
effectiveness
• Celebrate: To create a ubiquitous reward culture and agile recognition
in the new world of work and augment employee experience,
Celebrate focusses on timely, frequent, specific, inclusive, innovative,
and value-based recognition leveraging the RISE framework.

• Care: Infosys is a people company full of technology and our
employees are our most valuable assets. As an organization committed
to ensuring the wellbeing of employees, our employee care focus has
comprehensive programmes to address concerns about employee
health, Covid support, vaccination and the impact of work stress on
our employees and their families. In these unprecedented times that
induced anxiety and raised the stress level of the employees, there was
a renewed focus on wellness interventions through Infy Ikigai and our
award-winning initiative HALE.
• Culture: As the environment around us has been changing rapidly,
the culture of the organization also evolves to adapt to these
changes. While each one of our employees plays a key role in
defining the collective culture of the organization, the core
principles are based on CLIFE, our value system that Infosys has
nurtured over the decades. Our focus on Manager Code and
sentient live enterprise defines how we have embraced the culture
needs
GEM (GOING THE EXTRA MILE)

• GEM The company has also given recognition for the stellar
performers who have gone the extra mile, beyond their column
duty, during the testing times of Covid crisis and the leaders of
different departments analysed as well as presented their findings
on how they’ve been tackling the trying situation during the
pandemic through an initiative, called GEM (Going the Extra
Mile).
CONCLUSION:

Infosys has a robust approach to measure the effectiveness of

employee engagement and experience initiatives through micro-
feedback surveys. They also develop and deploy pulse surveys
periodically to gauge the effectiveness of 5C Engagement framework.
