ABSTRACT
• Cement manufacturing produces a large amount CO2
which is considered as a green house gas causing
ecological imbalance by increasing the temperatures
globally.
• So the present work is carried out using lime stone
powder as a partial replacement material of cement
adding at an incremental rate of 5% reaching up to 20%.
M 25 concrete mix is designed and with these obtained
proportions, the strength characteristics will be studied
using limestone powder as a partial replacement material
for cement.
INTRODUCTION
• The Limestone is calcareous sedimentary rock mainly
consisting of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), commonly
called calcite Limestone is used in cement and concrete
for various purposes, namely, as a raw material for
clinker production and as coarse or fine aggregate.
• Replacing of limestone into Portland cement has been
widely studied for several years. Limestone is usually
consider as an inert filler material that improves the
hydration rate of cement compounds and consequently
increases the strength at early ages.
MATERIALS
1. Cement
2. Fine aggregate
3. Coarse aggregate
4 .Water
5. Limestone powder
TESTINGS
1. On Cement are:
a. Fineness test
b. Specific gravity test
