Answer:
Well, before I have to choose among three options: Talking with his

assistant. They don’t want to lose their customers
thus I believe that they won’t care about it.
Moreover, they can be annoyed and claim that I
obstruct their work.

Therefore, the best ideal choice is talking with his
parents. They will have several ways to manage

him under control, etc. Besides, he spends a huge
time with his parents so they have a much stronger
impact than everybody including himself.
For all reasons I put above, I’ll choose talking to
his parents as the best choice for me.

while I must spend at least one day when I choose the other options.
At the same time, travelling by air is an ideal option as it grants me a
chance to see my beautiful country from above, which never fails to

and by coach have their own merits that we should not
overlook. Specifically, since train and coach tickets are
usually much cheaper than airplane ones, these two “pocket-
friendly” options can save me from financial burden.
However, the disadvantages obviously outweigh the positive
features, since travelling by train or coach is not only time-
consuming but also harmful to our physical well-being
because we have to sit for a long time

because of all the immense benefits it brings to travelers.
Situation: You are about to study at university. Which of these is

- Reputation of the university
- Distance from home
I will choose a university because of its reputation. A
university which is well-known must have good teaching and
learning. So I can enjoy good study environment. If the cost of
the course is high, I will try to afford by doing some part-time
job. Distance from home is not very importance because
nowadays the traffic is much better, making travelling around
easier and more convenient.
In my opinion cost of the course and distance from home are not
as important as reputation of the university because if I have a
chance to study at a well-known university, I will have a lot of
opportunities to get a good job with high salary after graduation
and I can afford to pay for tuition fee I get loan during the
university’s time. Moreover, I am an active and independent
student, so the distance from home is not important at all because
it will challenge me and train me to become more confident and
more dynamic to deal with all the problems in my life.
 Situation 2: Your friend who is a teacher
complains that many her students do not do
homework. She is considering the punishment
among three options: ask the students to rewrite
the task 10 times, require them to stand in the
classroom corner for one hour, or ask the
students give some money. Which do you think
is the best choice?

Well, before I have to choose among three options: requesting
students rewrite the task 10 times, stand in the classroom corner,

 Firstly I reliably ignore option asking them to give
some money. Relating punishment with money is
inappropriate to students. Moreover, they will
reckon that money makes the mare go. Thus it has
adverse effects to them. Secondly, although
requiring them to keep in the classroom corner is
the better way but it wastes their time. My friends
said that there were many her students who didn’t
finish homework so it is hard to reduce them to
silence. In my opinion, the best punishment is asking
them to rewrite the task 10 times. Students have to
finish their homework which they don’t do it before.
Besides, rewriting several times makes it easier to
absorb knowledge.
For all reasons I put above, I’ll choose requiring
students to rewrite the task 10 times as the best
choice for them.
 Situation 3: Your friend’s class is discussing
whether they should take photo to celebrate
graduation. They are considering three options:
taking photo with formal clothes, taking photo
with informal clothes, or taking no photo at all.
Which do you think is the best choice?
Answer:
Well, before I have to choose among three
options: Taking no photos, taking with formal
clothes, or with informal clothes, let’s talk about
all of them.
 Firstly, I reliably ignore option taking no photos at
all. Graduation is a significant anniversary at the end
of school’s life. It's a pity if my friend’s class doesn’t
do something to keep the memorable moments.
Secondly, whereas formal clothes relevant to the
atmosphere of ceremony, the formal clothes make
individual to become unique. In my opinion, formal
clothes are the best choice. Not only be a
photograph with the same kind of costume will
awesome, but also it shows the solidarity of
collective.
For all reasons I put above, I’ll choose taking photos
with formal clothes as the best choice for them.
 Situation 4: You see a boy who is bullied. What
will you do: talk to his teacher, talk to his
parents, or talk with his friends?

Well, before I have to choose among three
options: Talking with his parents, with his friends

Firstly I reliably ignore option reporting his situation
to his parents. They can make a storm in a teacup.
Harmful behaviors can happen to defend their son.
Maybe he will learn what they live. It has adverse
effects to him. In my opinion, talking with his
teacher is the best choice for me. It is easy to his
teacher to find out about the incident. Since she
compasses their students than anyone, the solution
will be solved. Maybe some people consider that
talking with his friends are better but the case is
able to be out of control.
For all reasons I put above, I’ll choose talking with
his teacher as the best choice for me.
 Situation 5: You have a Sunday evening out with
your friends. There are three suggestions: seeing
a movie, going shopping or singing karaoke.
Which one would you choose?
Answer:
Well, if I have to make decision among three
options above, I would choose going shopping
for a Sunday evening with my friends. There are
several reasons for my choice.
 First of all, you know, I as well as majority of girls
have a big fan of shopping. It is likely for girls to
spend much time and money on collecting some
favorite items such as handbags, shoes, clothes… It
is so exciting to go to a supermarket and buy some
favorite things at weekend. Even when I don’t have
much money, just window- shopping is so
interesting. Moreover, going shopping is a good way
for me to relax myself. When I go shopping and see
a lot of colorfully decorated items, all my stress
seems to disappear. Wow, walking around a
supermarket and listening to some pieces of sweet
and gentle music is so wonderful, right.
 About seeing a movie, personally I think it’ s a
good idea. However, it is difficult to find a
suitable film for all of us because my friends and I
have little interest in films in common. For
example, I’m interested in romantic films but my
friends want to see horrible ones. So we cannot
see a film together. I don’t choose singing
karaoke because I’m not good at singing. It will
be not interesting if there is a person who cannot
enjoy the whole atmosphere of the group.
 To sum up, from my point of view, going
shopping is the most ideal choice for me and my
friends in a Sunday evening.
 Situation 6: You are going to travel to London.
There are three suggestions of when to go there:
spring, summer and winter. Which one would
you choose?
Answer:
Well, I’m a big fan of traveling. If I have to choose
when to go to London, I would choose summer.
There are several explanations for this option.
 First of all, I have a long holiday in summer,
therefore, I can spend much time on traveling. My
summer vacation lasts about 3 months, so I can
have 1 month on holiday. It will be great chance for
me to discover the beauty and special attraction
sites in London. I will also taste some traditional
food here. Moreover, summer is an ideal time for
tourism. I’ll go to some beaches and enjoy the fresh
air there. I’m also interested in swimming. It will be
wonderful to go swimming in early morning or late
afternoon. Another interesting idea is to walk on
the sand along the beach and enjoy the peaceful
atmosphere at night. It is so cool and fresh in
summer in London in the evening.
In spring, I think its’ a little bit humid and wet in
London. Therefore, if I travel to London in spring,
I cannot visit famous attractions if it rains. In
addition, I have to attend my class at that time.
I don’t choose winter because it is much cold in
London in this season. I can badly suffer from
cold weather. It is maybe snowy in London. At
that time, I just want to sleep in and enjoy my
favorite food.
 In conclusion, summer is the most suitable time
for me to have a trip in London.
 Situation 7: Your cousin is the best student of the
class this year. His parents are thinking about a
present, and there are three options: a laptop,
a holiday, or some money. Which option would
you suggest her?
Answer:
Right! If I were her, I would believe that an
incredible holiday is the best ideal choice among
three options: laptop, holiday or some money
because of the following reasons.
 Firstly, travel broadens the mind. She is able to
integrate with cultural activities, traditions and local
customs of place what she wants to go. Secondly,
not only does she offer many change to travel
through an unfamiliar country or area in order to
learn about it but also she can get time to relax.
Lastly, a holiday may cost a lot of money if you fail
to plan before you travel. For example: If you book
before about 3 or 4 months, you will get tickets on
the cheap. If she is given money, she will spend all of
it soon.
Actually, I don’t choose a laptop because I believe it
may distract her study. For all reasons I put above,
I’ll choose a holiday as the best choice for her.
 Situation 8: You are considering a birthday
present for a friend. A clothing item, a book, a
pair of tickets.

Lan is good at literature, so I believe that she has a
great passion about books. She and I have an

library to collect some favorite books. I will give
her a novel as a birthday present. I strongly
believe that reading books is good. If she is given
a clothing item or a pair of tickets, she will not get
any knowledge.
In sum, a book which is the best choice can widen
her knowledge. Especially, it is the thing she is

Club, let’s talk about all of them.
 Firstly I reliably ignore option joining Music Circle
Club because music wastes our time. When people
are addicted to music, they don’t go out to chat.
They always sit to play music and listen to it without
doing anything, so it is not interesting to make
friends in this club.
Besides that playing sport is good for our health. If
we join sport club, we will be fit, strong, and healthy
but we can’t play all kinds of sport, so we only
make friends with a number of ones who we often
play with.
 In my opinion, joining English Club is the best
choice to meet people and make friends.
Firstly, English is considered as an international
language and it is also a compulsory subject in
Vietnamese school system. Therefore, there will
be a lot of students from different courses,
different classes that have need to join English
club to improve their English skills. This means
we have an opportunity to make friends with
many kinds of people
 Moreover, English club gives students a chance
to practice English in a relaxing, informal
environment, and to meet new people. It can
make an excellent contribution to student life at a
new college.
For all reasons I put above, I’ll choose English
club as the best choice for me and my friends to
have a big circle of friends.

Well, before I have to choose among three
options: sunglasses, a bar of chocolate, or cell
phone as a present for my 12-year-old sister who
is going to take a school trip for a week, let’s talk
about all of them.
 Firstly, I reliably ignore option giving her a bar of
chocolate. All children like eating chocolate but
it’s not a good idea for them to take a bar of
chocolate during a long trip. For the reason that I
can’t control when she eats the chocolate. She
may have it before meals and then she may miss
the meal because of the calorie that chocolate
provide them. This causes some bad effects to
their health and activities.
Secondly, if I give her a cell phone, she will have a
tool to take photographs, contact family.
However, she sometimes looses contact with
groups and interesting activities because she is
absorbed in photographing and chatting. Besides,
I think it is very harmful for a 12-year-old child to
take belongings like cell phone during the journey.
Finally, the best ideal choice is buying her
sunglasses. This device helps protect her eyes
under the summer sun lights, smoke, or sand. In
addition, children often have some problems with
their eyes when they take part in public
activities or go to crowded places. I think wearing
sunglasses can help reduce these risks and she
feels more confident to take part in the trip as
well.
For all reasons I put above, I’ll choose giving her
sunglasses as the best choice for me.

You’re planning a vacation in Dalat for your class
and thinking of choosing one of these three ways
for travelling: by car, by train, and by plane.
Which is the best way to get there for your class?
Well, before I have to choose among three
options: Travelling to Dalat by plane, train and
car, let’s talk about all of them.
 Firstly, Travelling to Dalat plane is the fastest
way and it helps us save time. However, we must
spend a lot of money on it. We are students, so
we don’t have enough money to pay for it.
Besides, we have no chance to see some
beautiful sights on the way to Dalat.
 Secondly, travelling to Dalat by train is also a
suitable way. It is very comfortable and we can
eat and sleep freely on the train. Also, we can
attend some activities of entertainments such as:
playing cards, watching TV and reading book.
However, train just move on the particular way,
so it cannot stop for a long time so that we can
join some activities in some places.
Thirdly, travelling to Dalat by car is the best way
because it is familiar to most people when going
for tourism. We can stop everywhere to enjoy
delicious food and watch beautiful sights freely.
Moreover, everybody is on one car, so we have
chance to talk and share joke stories together.
The atmosphere becomes more friendly and
cozier. What’s more, we can see many nice sights
on two sides of the street from place to place.
For all reasons I put above, I’ll choose travelling
to Dalat by car as the best choice for me and my
friends because it brings us a lot of benefits.
 Situation 4
I’d like to imagine that your family is planning to
move to a new area. There are three
suggestions: a farmland, a beach town, and a big
city. Which place do you think would be the best
for your family to live?
When planning to move to another place to live,
people can move to live in a farmland, a beach
town, or a big city. In my opinion, living to a big
city is the best choice for my family because of
the following reasons.
Firstly, the most advantage of living in a big city is
helping us to improve our knowledge. As you
know, there are many foreigners living there, we
can communicate with them and learn many
different cultures from them. For example, if we
live with neighbor who is Japanese, Indian or
Korean, we can learn a lot from their cultures.
Secondly, I find it more convenient to live in a big
city than in a farmland or in a beach town
because we can afford essential things for life
such as: clothes, furniture and health care.
 What’s more, living in a big city has almost
everything supporting our lives as schools, banks,
hospitals, bus, undergrounds, malls, convenient
traffic... For instance, when we have an
emergency or a serious disease in a big city, we
can easily find any hospital with high technology
near our place and take a short time to get there.
Last but not least, living in a big city has more
chance for us to find a good job because there
are many big companies as well as factories
there. If we live in the city, we will have many
chances to get the developing science and
technology. It means that we will have more job
 opportunities with high salary. My nephew, for
example, was easy to find a good job in a
Japanese company after graduated from HUFLIT
university in 2011.
On the other hand, there are several reasons
why I don’t choose the other option. In the first
place, it’s bad for our health because of praying
pesticides and other chemicals. I would like to
say that people who live in a farm land are likely
to be suffering the effects of chemical exposure.
Moreover, it’s inconvenient for transportation in
the rainy season.
 Finally, a beach town is not my choice because
we usually get more risks of being affected by
storms, tsunami, etc. Honestly speaking, having
a house near the beach, we can be affected the
coastal climate that makes our skin dry and
adust.
In short, if we were in the situation, I would opt
to live in a big city due to the convenience, the
chances to find a good job, and the improvement
of our knowledge.

to do after school. Personally, playing a sport is
the most important activity for the students
because of some following reasons.
Firstly, sports are a powerful tool that brings the
students together and creates a sense of
community. In addition, exercising is a great way
to get out of the stressful college life. Moreover,
playing sports with classmates can help the
students relax and reduce their anxiety. Studies
is proved that playing sports with classmates can
also help them motivate and give them the
feeling of happiness.
 Secondly, playing sports help the students
increase bloods flow to the brain and help body
build more connections between nerves. Another
convenience that playing sports is the way to help
the students’ brain grow and make it work better.
Finally, playing sports help students in building
and improving confidence level. If they practice
sports regularly, they can be more healthy and
active. Furthermore, participating sports also help
students in getting protected with numerous
diseases such as obesity, diabetes, heart
problems, etc.
To sum up, from my point of view, playing sports
after school brings students both a lot of fun and
help them perform better in school.

Well, before I have to choose among three
options: online newspapers, radio channels, or
TV channels, let’s talk about all of them.
 Firstly, reading online newspapers to update
information is not only domestic news but also
across the country. They report news a lot faster
than regular newspapers. You never have to wait
too long to learn about something . Besides, you
can save a lot of time and money because you
can view them with a few simple clicks of the
mouse.
 Secondly, radio channels varies from region to
region , hence you can listen to the radio in your
regional language . It is convenient for you to
enjoy your favourite programmes at home, in
office, while driving car or anywhere.
Thirdly, TV channels provides various
programmes. These programmes are different
kinds for different audiences such as the old, the
young and children. Besides, TV channels
delights and instructs in various ways. For
example, we will watch any TV shows while
relaxing on the sofa. It fills our life with vigor.
 For all reasons I put above , I will choose TV
channels because nothing can be more
wonderful than sitting at home and seeing
people around the world .

You have been stressed out recently, so you
want to relieve stress by doing something fun

 Nowadays, modern life has become so
demanding that I’m facing the problem stress
such as the responsibility for finance in my
family, childrearing and much work pressure.
Going to the cinema, doing some cooking at
home, or going shopping are activities for me to
relieve stress but my best way is going shopping.
Firstly, shopping is necessary for my life because I
need some food, clothes, shoes and something
that I would have a good choice, know the price of
products and choose goods for sale.
Secondly, I like to renew my wardrobe and update
my style. Besides, I can buy different colorful
things and I prefer to walk around shops, relax
and concentrate on my shopping.
Lastly, I can watch films and listen to music at
home. It is not necessary for me to go to the
cinema. I have to cook for my family every day. I
am bored with cooking, so cooking at home is not
my choice.

with distinction, and he has received job offers

in a multi-national company, a managerial

Why do you think so?
 Well, if I were my brother, I would choose a
highly- paid position in a small-owned company
because of the following reasons.
First of all, as you know, a small family owned
company can be a good place for people to have
good cooperation because there are not so
many people in a small company . The small
working staff will get closer easily and
understand each other more, which helps them
get along with each other much better.
 Moreover, working in a small company makes
people get promoted at work easily. People are
qualified and competent, so they are highly
appreciated, which can help them develop
quickly.
Besides, when working in a small company with a
highly-paid position, people can feel secure
about the production policy. They are not always
worried about the decrease of the staff or the
workforce. They are assured of a stable job;
therefore, they will always concentration
working and fulfilling their duties effectively.
Actually, choosing a low-level position in a multi-
national company or a managerial-position in a
non-profit organization makes people feel
stressful because people have to get high
responsibility and try their best to work in order
to get belief of their employers or leaders.
To sum up, choosing a highly paid position in a
small family-owned company, people are not
under lots of pressure. In my opinion, it is the
best choice for my brother.

Your ten-year-old son wants to keep a pet at
home. Which of the following would be the best
choice for him: a fish, a bird, or a dog? Why?
I will immediately choose a dog for my ten-year-
old son if he wants to keep a pet at home.
Because the dog is a loving companion to a man.
He is happy to go everywhere with his master.
He shows his affection for his master by wagging
his tail and licking his hand or face. And there are
many other reasons that the best of my choice is
a dog such as:
 Firstly, A dog keeps watch over his master’s
house. He will not allow anyone to touch anything
belonging to his master. He will bark when a
stranger approaches the house. He might even
bite a thief who is not scared away by his bark.
Secondly, A dog is loyal and faithful to his master.
Nothing will induce him to leave his master. If his
master is blind, the dog helps him to cross the
street and acts as his loving guide. No man can
feel lonely when he has a dog for company. Even
his master might be a poor man or even a beggar
but, still his dog will not leave him to go with
anyone else.
Finally, a friend is one who is ready to help a man
in his moment of need. So a dog is really man’s
best friend. He is prepared to die rather than
allow any harm to come to his master. Dogs have
been known to die to save their masters. A dog
might even die of grief after his master is dead.
He is certainly a true and faithful friend. It is right
to call him man’s best friend.
A bird or a fish cannot be as useful as a dog. They
are beautiful, but they are useless. I don’t advise
my son to raise them.
 In general, dogs really do deserve their title of
‘man’s best friend’. They’re loyal, intelligent,
devoted and affectionate.

What personality trait do you think is most
important in a good friend: honesty, understand,
or helpfulness?
There is a saying that goes "A friend in need is a
friend indeed". This proverb means that true
friends are those who will always be there for us
and will stick by us through thick and thin. I
personally think that A true friend should have
many good qualities, but honesty and understand
that all good friends share with one another are
the most important because there are some
reasons for this.
 Firstly, Honesty may be the most important
quality for friendship as it is difficult to befriend
anyone who tells you lies and can’t be trusted. If
you can trust someone to do the right thing in all
situations and they are not tempted by
temporary gain, it’s a good bet they will make a
lasting friend.
 Secondly, as a friend, we have to be honest to
tell the truth even its very difficult for our friend
to accept it. Here, both parties have to trust each
other and understand in any circumstances in
order to make our relationship long lasting and
positive in future. For example, someone will
have so many friend if he or she have these
attitude compared to those who have negative in
friendship like talking nonsense or and stab at
the back of their friend.
Finally, understand is also an important thing in a
good friend A good friend is always ready to give

which makes a close - knit family. Moreover,
children can make friends or communicate with the
others, it makes them more confident. Besides,
they can enjoy breathtaking landscapes such as

English skills, especially listening and speaking in a
total English environment. For example, English club
holders design many different and interesting
activities included: warm-up, discussion,
presentation and games in order to stimulate
students’ participation. Due to warm-up activities,
students’ brains are activated by reminding the titles
of English songs, thinking about as many English

 Next, through the discussion and presentation
