TLE - Waste Management
TLE - Waste Management
Group Activity
1.Based on the list you made, do you know where the materials are from or made?
2. What are these materials made of?
1. What do you see on the board?
2. Which of these following materials will decompose/decay and will not ?
Biodegradable waste is a type of waste, typically originating from plant or animal sources, which may
be degraded by other living organisms.
Non-biodegradable wastes are those that cannot be decomposed or dissolved by natural agents.
Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxides, and water vapor.
Waste management is planning, controlling and assessing all types of wastes that
can be regulated in order to minimize these wastes.
Ways of Proper Waste Management
Reduce
Reuse
Recycle
Reduce- means we need to lessen what we throw away like plastics, paper and plastic bottles
Reuse- means we need to use what we throw for another purpose like plastic bottles to be
containers of some liquid ingredients
Recycle- means to create waste materials into something useful or functional like tissue tubes to be
pen holders, shampoo sachets can be simple bags or wallet.
BENEFITS
OF
PROPER WASTE MANAGEMENT
1. Maintain healthy environment
2. Decreases pollution
3. Conserves energy, landfill space and natural resources
4. Save Mother Earth
What You Can Do
When you see litter in the streets
And the air smells of pollution
When you feel like it is all pilling up
Remember there is a solution
The more we manage our waste properly, the less garbage winds up in our
landfills and incineration plants.
Remember:
We should classify our waste to properly manage them.
We should place them in the proper garbage container.
We can even reuse and recycle waste to reduced waste problems.
