Presentation of

DG ‘B’ Check Servicing and


Maintenance in SV-10
List of Materials used for ‘B’ check
 1.Fuel filter 02 nos
 2.Lube Oil filter 01 nos
 3.Engine oil 10 liters
 4.Coolant 02 liters(for top up)
Purpose: Improve or maintain the Engine
efficiency, in running operation with out any
hampering and better average diesel
consumption.
These are the Materials
The following steps are taken
 1.Change the fuel filters
 2.Change the lube oil filter
 3.Change the Engine oil
 4.Clean the air filter
 5.Cleaning the crank case breather
 6.Cleaning the float tank breather
 7.Fuel drain of sediment from tank
 8.Top up the coolant
1.Ensured and done the DG OFF Mode.
2.Informed to COT Control room for
with out field permission do not operate
the DG in remote mode.
3.Done the DG fuel inlet valve in OFF.
Removal of fuel filter from the Engine.
Both fuel filters are removed from engine
and drain the fuel.
New fuel filters are placed in fuel cover.
And fill the fuel in fuel filters
Removal of damaged fuel filters ‘O’ rings.
Then Properly placed the fuel filters with and
replaced the ‘o’ rings. And ensure the tightness.
Removal of oil filter
New oil filter
Filled the oil in filter
After proper filling the oil in filter, placed the oil filter
And ensured the tightness by using proper tools.
Then drain the engine oil in can and
tray.
After complete drain the engine oil,
change the oil with sufficient quantity
(10 liters).
And removed air filter for cleaning.
Cleaned the air filter
After cleaning the air filter placed in proper manner.
After placed the air filter tightened
the nut bolts.
Removed the crankcase breather and cleaned the
jally for avoid the choking of oil. Fixed properly.
And also removed, cleaned the
float tank breather and placed.
Drain the fuel 02 liters from fuel tank.
Top up the Coolant up maximum level
Level indication on coolant tank.
1.After completion of ‘B’ check
maintenance (above steps),removed the
waste particles, cleaned oil and tightened
the AMF panel connections and nut bolts.
2.Later only DG running operation
checked from COT for 01 hour.
3.DG running operation is smoothly.
4.Done accordingly DG half yearly check list.
