Performing Arts

Dance, music, theater, musical theater, magic, mime, spoken poetry, puppetry, circus arts, stand up comedy, improv, professional wrestling, and performance art are all examples of performing arts. They utilize various combinations of human movement, sound, words, and visual elements to communicate ideas, stories, and emotions to audiences. Performance art differs from performing arts in that it is considered a time-based art form presented live to viewers, similar to artwork in a gallery, rather than solely for entertainment purposes.

DANCE

Dancing is a form of art in which human movement is used to

sense, comprehend, and communicate thoughts, feelings, and
experiences.
MUSIC

The art of organizing audible sounds and vibrations to create a

musical composition utilizing the components of melody,
harmony, rhythm, and timbre is known as music.
THEATER

Theatre is a collaborative art form that portrays meaning via the use
of words, voice, movement, and visual aspects. The term "theatre"
refers to both live improvisational and written work, as well as
dramatic forms such as film, television, and other electronic media.
MUSICAL THEATER

Musical theatre is a narrative art form that combines singing,

acting, dancing, and production. It is an incredibly
multidisciplinary creative field that draws on many different fields
of knowledge for performance and instruction.
MAGIC

Magic, which includes the subgenres of illusion, stage magic, and

close up magic, among others, is a performance art in which
audiences are amused by seemingly impossible feats executed
with natural methods.
MIME

Mime is a type of silent art that requires just motions, gestures,

and facial expressions to perform or communicate. A mime is also
a person who does mime. Nonverbal communication has been
practiced since the dawn of time.
SPOKEN POETRY

Spoken word poetry is a sort of performance poetry that goes beyond the
written word. The powerful, emotional delivery of slam poetry or a dramatic
speech at an open mic night may have lingered with you long after it was gone.
This is the force of spoken word poetry, and it is designed to stick with you.
PUPPETRY

Puppetry is the art of creating and manipulating puppets for use in

theatrical performances on stage, television, or cinema. A puppet

human effort rather than mechanical help.

painting and sketching, design, costume, and tent construction, as
well as various derivative arts influenced by the circus, such as toy
creation and miniatures.
STAND UP COMEDY

As you start to experiment with new techniques of writing and structuring jokes,
you realize how important uniqueness is. The each comedian's unique take on a
subject is where art is discovered. That may be a novel idea or a narrative we've
heard a thousand times before. Originality is art, and it is the most desired attribute
in stand-up comedy.
IMPROV

Improv (sometimes called impro) is an abbreviation for

improvisation. It's impromptu group theater. It is an art form in
which the actors create the theatre, generally through improvised
humor.
PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING

The obvious answer for most supporters is a resounding yes. We often tell
our classmates, who give us ugly looks for bringing it up, that wrestling
is a sort of performance art. It employs athletic motions in front of a live
audience to create the appearance of fighting while conveying a tale.
PERFORMANCE ART

performance art, a time-based art form that typically features a

live presentation to an audience or to onlookers (as on a street)
and draws on such arts as acting, poetry, music, dance, and
painting.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PERFORMANCE
ART AND PERFORMING ART

Nowadays, performance art is widely seen as a piece of art, similar to

that found in an art gallery, but created in front of an audience in real
time. The phrase "performing arts" refers to any creative form with a
performance component, such as theater, poetry, dance, and so on.
